Are you allowed to take things to the price-check scanner first? Then, if noticing a mis-price, go and buy it to get the DtD? That would save buying things hoping the wrong price goes through.

yup.. that's what I do. they have scanners in the aisles in our tesco, so just scan and check.

Brilliant grimbarian 1. Well done :T

My problem has always been not pointing out the sa's mistake as it goes thru the till when this is a mistake I'm not expecting - if you see what I mean !
I am so conscious of having to count all the pennies, that I have to make sure I'm not overcharged - except in Asda and Tescos of course ;)

If I spot overcharges in other stores I obviously try to get it corrected straight away at the tills......so I still have to keep one eye on the prices as they are scanned, but in Asda and Tesco of course, I have to zip it untill I have paid the price they say and walk down to customer services :D

Found some car roof bars in my local today with a SEL stating £15.00 whilst the packet had a £45.00 reduced sticker (which worked on the scanner). Got the bars through the checkout on the £45.00 sticker, then the SA says "oh, it's saying the price is too high". Checkout manager comes over and looks confused, so I say "oh, maybe there's an error on the system" (maybe he'll overide it), but no, he looks for another barcode on the packet, eventually finds one that scans at £15.00 (same as SEL). So, whilst a series of expletives are going through my head I have to stand there and look amazed that I am getting such a bargain. Damn it.

There must be a way of getting these through. - I'm going back tomorrow to buy them again on the self scanner, and will try to distract the SA if the computer flags an error again.

Why don't people check the gist of a thread before posting comments like the last one. DTD is explained adequately in Post No.1 of the thread.
Which bit of "only post misprices" is difficult to understand?

    I despair sometimes ...
