Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Colgate Advanced Whitening Toothpaste 100ml Pump - SEL 99p, charged £2.28.

Meaning they paid me 30p for each tube I bought. After getting this, I checked a few other stores and they all had the correct SEL, but it is worth looking out for.

Tescos in Wath upon Dearne has carefully taken down all out of date offers except one on a phillips 2Gb black mp4 player on a small island of ipod accessories with an out of date offer; SEL about £29.99, original price £39.99. Thought about trying it but realised I would still be paying £20 for something I didn't really need even with the discount...

In Wath and Rotherham today they still had SEL up for BOGOF on Carex handwash and 3 for £3 on Always towels.

Just bought 2 Technika DAB - 307 FM Stereo Radio's, OOD SEL, offer price £29.97, originally £49.97.
Customer service lady stated policy is only to refund DTD on 1 item! Phone call to her duty manager, and £80 DTD refunded!

Does double the difference apply to prices in the leaflets they put through your door?

Pretty sure something i was going to buy was cheaper in the leaflet than on the SEL. Can't see anything in teh leaflet small print that would exclude this.

    thanks

The exact wording on the blue boards is "If you are charged more than the price on the product or the shelf..." so technically, it doesn't, but lots of people got DtD's on errors in the last two H&B leaflets mr T produced. I'd say you probably would get DtD, but there's a chance you might come up against that argument.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Lady at CS yesterday was getting maltesers fun bags DTD- charged £1.91, SEL 97p.

I was there queuing up trying to get my 150 points on 2 magazines. Forgot how rude and patronising CS can be: interrupting me for the 2nd time, "well, if you read the sign CAREFULLY madam..." don't think the poor boy expected me to fight back, pointing out the poorly worded sign and incorrectly stacked shelves, so got my 150 added.

Forgot how much fun RnR used to be at CS.

  • Found this price tag for this product

Spotting that £34.97 is well below the RRP of the product (typically retails for £60+ online) I checked the Tesco till price.... £79.97 !

At this point I was getting excited.... if they honour the DTD policy, I will be getting £90 for each of them I buy!!

Hastily picked up all they had (2), bought them, then circled around to the customer services desk.
After a few minutes waiting, they came back with an entirely different product (linksys wireless G router) and attempted to convince me that this was what was priced @ £34.97.
I pointed out that the barcode on the £34.97 label, and the 2 items I had purchased was identical.
The lady serving me was obviously out of her depth, and called for help from one of the more senior electricals staff.
He was of no more use, offering me a refund and advice on what alternatives they could offer.
I mentioned the DTD policy, but neither was willing to:
    a) give me the product at the lower price,
    b) give me double the difference back.

I eventually gave in, and got a refund - as I certainly didn't want to be stuck with 2 routers I don't want or need.
After having read other posts in this thread, i'm regretting giving up - and am stuck wondering if I may well have got my money if I'd been more persistent.

I confess to being a noob @ this DTD exploiting lark - Have I just missed out on the motherload of a DTD?

Either way, I'm going to be keeping a keen eye out for these kinds of fekups in the future, as it's immense fun trying to get 1-up on Tesco =)

The misprice is was talking about is Flora buttery - 66p on leaflet (cam with free local newspaper) and 84p in store.

Worth a try if there is the customer services person is nice, though not worth the risk if you don't need the product. A lot of stores are so mean that they ntry to get out of genuine misprices let alone this one.
