ive not bothered looking in tesco since the policy for misprices changed.
but on monday we bought the said bacon checked the receipt as it did seem rather cheap(we had got some the week before VG bacon for tescos)we had not got the bogof went to cs and she went away and checked come back with the signs, then proceeded to do her stuff i asked whats the policy these days(whilst looking at the board behind her).
she said double the difference so you get the bacon for free.
very nice i said.....enjoy it she said..........this was from a cs hag who was like the bloody gestapo in the past under the old r+r rules.
i was ready for an argument and didnt get one.:D

This effectively comes down to reasonableness.

If the disclaimer is large enough to get noticed by the casual shopper, then the store is "probably" OK. HOWEVER, I feel that each packet should have the label removed.
They could shout it from a loudhailer if they wanted to, the sticker MUST be removed or the offer fulfilled or an offence has been committed.
Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.

Together we can make a difference.

May i suggest that if cs become stubborn (and its worth it of course) buy that days newspaper and take a photo of the newspapers date by the sign which states double the difference (these are found by any till aka, point of sale aka, where you took the contract of sale out with the store) and just mention that trading standards may be interested to see said photo, watch how quick you get your d&d. As i say make sure its worth it. Believe it or not there are a couple of Tesco express' by me that still have the a5 signs stating the r&r terms if things dont add up, im just waiting for them to !!!! up on the beer and i will be in there;)

Unfortunately, Tesco has a policy (though it's not written anywhere you can see it) of not allowing the public to carry out photography in the store. You will probably be asked to leave by a store defective (sic).

I really must re-read the SOGA and CPA. I bow to your greater knowledge. However in my experience, Trading Standards just ain't interested, or rather, the centralised quango (Consumer Direct, I think it's called) that acts as a call centre ain't interested. You might as well call the speaking clock for all these guys are worth.

A lot of large companies have the same "hidden" policy. Though nowadays its harder to enforce with the use of cameraphones.

If I see a misprice, and a good one at that, I usually take a crafty camera phone picture of the SEL, or whatever. Then when CS come back and say there is no mispriced SEL I can say "Oh then what was this that was there 2 minutes ago then?"

but thats when you can create a huge fuss as by taking the photo you knew the item marked was wrong and that you knew you were to be charged the wrong price or why take the said picture, each to there own though
coupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there
    (meaning under the buggy lol):D

I think if they did get the store detective to make you leave this would strengthen your case, i mean what argument would they have, the conversation would be***** TESCO***** "Sir im asking you to leave for taking photos when its against store policy for you to, even though its not on a notice for you to see anywhere" ***** ME*****"Why good sir, im just collecting evidence for trading standards as you have not given me dtd as i should get, which is written on signs all over the store, and clear for everyone to see, which is also stores policy"*****

The problem there being, any company can ask you to leave their premises without giving ANY reason. This is sometimes used to deal with problem people before the problem is created(shoplifters, drunks, vandals etc.)

Usually the phrase is "Sir/Madam, your custom and presence is no longer welcome on these premises and we would like you to leave." sometimes followed by(depending on the reason) "Failure to do so may result in the police being called."
