I queried something today that I had been overcharged for, and I only got the difference back - no £2 voucher - so I guess they don't do this anymore?

I have emailed them though to query this.

I had this also, went to CS, only got difference back, I wasn't sure they still did the giftcard so didn't query. I emailed customer service and got £4 voucher in the post and an apology letter.

Yes it is still their policy, but like TESCO sometimes you have to remind them. Oh and quote from their website http://www.asda.co.uk/corp/customer_service/FAQs.htm
What happens if I am overcharged?
If you have been overcharged in any of our stores we will gladly refund the difference (if you have been overcharged) and give you a £2 Gift card voucher for each product you have been mischarged for.:T

I did once b4 and never got any reply from them

also was in tesco this evening. the final amount on my shopping bill was calculated wrongly.
I calculated thethings I had bought and it was about 90p less than the final amount I was charged.
went to CS and they insisted that the computer was never wrong......

I also insisted it was incorrect. I calculated my bill manually with a pen and paper....
eventually after 3 cs assistants one came along with a calculator and added things up again...........
Yes the computer was incorrect and I was overcharged by 82p.....

I had to mention the DTD but I got it...even though no sign up at CS about DTD.

That's absolutely shocking. You'd expect the software to be able to add up the items scanned correctly, otherwise it means there's a bug in the process and it impiles the problem is widespread. Most people would never notice, so good on you for being so on the ball. £2Bn profit last year for Mr T, that's a fair few 82p's..............

It would be interesting to know what was the total of the bill? If not too many items, would be interesting to know the items and prices. Then we ALL can be on the lookout if we buy any of the items.
  • this is very shocking, me and missus are going through some Tesco receipts tomorrow. Will post the findings.

Any chance there was a BOGOF or Multibuy that didn't come off, or an item that went through at the wrong price, or an item accidentally got scanned twice ?
I've very occasionally thought that my bill (any supermarket/store) was slightly out and checked it and found that I was right, but ALL the individual amounts ALWAYS add up correctly (to the bill total) and the difference in my estimate has always been a misprice/BOGOF/multibuy issue or an item being scanned twice!

Could you scan the receipt and post the image so we could all take a look?

i bought a phillips electric razor last week and was charged 39.99 but there was a sign saying phillips razors 28.99????

there was no model number on the big sign so i guessed that they were all that price!!!

went to cs and told them and theygave me back £10????

i asked for dtd and they said that i was not overcharged but mis priced as there was also a sign saying 39.99 so dtd did not stand????? AND they said they only gave me the £10 as a good will gesture.

i stood my ground and asked for the manager who was conveniently on a break!! I left my number and they said he would call???????still waiting a week later...........

    What should i do????????

If Tesco undercharges you, can you also clain DTD?

I only ask because I bought three packs of mini Coquiles St Jaques (sp?) which had a pack price of £3 and a SEL of £1.50. They went through the till at 75p each, so I went back and bought another six packs. (They are very nice, btw.) I was happy with my deal but I did wonder when driving home ....if I'd had the brass neck to go up to CS, would they have given me a DTD of £1.50 per pack???????
