Thanks Gary.So does this mean that every store is different in their policies?

No, they should not be. They are just different in their honesty and willingness to apply a direct promise to you the customer, from their Board of Directors as written at every point of sale in the store. There are some really good members of staff who will apply the policy without question, but there are some who will pull the wool over your eyes and just lie.

If the blue board is not on display, tell them you are aware of their overcharge policy. The policy applies to every item in the store and does not exclude the one you have just bought.

Yes, I echo that point. I was just suggesting there may be more ammunition to proove DTD to CS who try and hide behind the "no blue board" scenario.;)

Hi this is a new series of books, hard back (but the cover is soft) it is from the Night Garden. The Tomliboos:the waving game book was stickered up as £1.50 (no shelf labels for books in my store) however another book in the series -the Makka Pakka was stickered £3.
The scanner was not working as usual so I though 1 of them must be mispriced so took a gamble which paid off.
The Tomliboos book went through as £3 so DTD was £3 refund (this was stickered as £1.50)..result Tesco paying you £1.50 to take this away.Nice lady on CS said "you will get double the difference back",very nicely..
Paid full price for the makka pakka book £3 (stickered)

There were loads still stickered up in my local yesterday, so worth lookking

    Hope this helps someone
In my store the Tomliboos:the waving game book was stickered at £1.50, scan station showed £3.00 so would have got it for nowt, but to be honest, the book isn't that wonderful and was not really worth raising my profile with them.

I think it is entirely reasonable to expect to pay £1.85 and get the BOGOF, based on what you've said. I would have asked for a manager, or even shown the packaging to some one passing by and asked them what they would have expected to have paid, based on the advertising - trying to shame the CSA into the Dtd.

There is some time limit to when they can refund on chilled goods - I think it's 20 minutes, which is probably why she queried it.

BTW, I've been told in the past that as I've not left the store, the transaction isn't complete and DtD/R&R doesn't apply........Is that the theme tune to Jackanory I can hear over the tannoy.......go on CSA, tell me another story...........
i went to tesco hamilton inleicester and aslo the bacon was on offer at £1.85 with a bogof on the packet, i asked the shelf stacker if this right and she said yes paid for items and i too had been charged £1.85 each not bogof at cs they told me hat two promos cant run at the same time, she went to check it out and said that one of the offers ran out at midnight and that the person who put tham out should have checked first.cut a long short she let me have them at bogof so 2 pkts of bacon for £1.85....bargin
always on the lookout for a bargin always better when its free!!:T

  • I've just bought the Tropicana juice that is on offer...two varieties in my store. Cranberry burst and some pomegranatge variety. Shelf edger says half price so should be £1.39, but it goes through the till at £2.00. I received the double discount so recieved £1.22 back.

But you were overcharged by £1.85 so you should have had 2 x £1.85 (£3.70) back, effectively making the bacon FREE!!!

Unfortunately, CS have taken you for a ride:naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty: !!!
If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

same thing happened to my mum with the bacon this morning
didn't get double the difference back either, was also overcharged on mini cheddars 12 pack.

think we are going to get barred from there though, i sent trading standards round last week because they sold me 2 days out of date dohnuts off the bakery :rotfl: :rotfl:

    that manager loves me :D
    I heart The Capital ;)
  • I have just been thinking (difficult), that this is a Tesco Mis-price thread. Why is there not a Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, Somerfield, Waitrose, Marks and Spencer, Co-op etc., Mis-price thread? Is it only The English Supermarket COmpany that makes mistakes????
  • Because Lexie only Tesco do double the difference back, not much point going out and buying something which you know is the wrong price so you can just get it refunded to the right price! what have you gained??
  • i think tesco make the most mistakes lol!!!!!
