OK I give in, what do the abbreviations mean ie SEL D+D R&Rs or something like that there seem to be loads but I dont have a clue what they mean. Is there somewhere lurking that explains? TaI USED TO BE INDECISIVE BUT NOW I'M NOT SO SURE!

wife told me yesterday that rainbow sandwich bags with stickers (ideal for kids pack lunches) were 89p but are now selling for 20p (she bought 10 boxes). i popped in to the tesco in sunbury, saw that they were SEL 89p but scanned at 20p, great, i bought 10 more. AND HERES THE GOOD BIT, bought 9 more today in addlestone tesco, SEL 20p scanned at 89p, 9 times 69p plus DTD worked out at £12.42. they paid me to take them home AND THEN SOME.
also bought DVD of Pan's Labarinth, stickered at £7 and scanned at £11 But the checkout guy noticed and voided it then put it through at correct price despite me saying dont worry, i will sort it at the cs desk! never mind, maybe i'll try that one tomorrow (with DTD i would be paid a £1 to take it away)
i didnt even need to mention DTD to CS (she did have to make a quick phone call 1st to clear it)Great Sage, equal of Heaven.0 -

:j:j:jHad a bit of luck today buying son's mobile for Christmas. Purchased LG KE 500 Dimple with blue tooth on Tesco Pay as you go. SEL Price £89.97 but with offer that if you spend over £25 in store on other things then you get £25 taken off. Did pretty big shop as getting things in for next week and would you believe it £25 didn't come off at the till!
Went to Customer services and said I had been over charged and wasn't happy about it. Told by CS assistant that the £25 had to be manually taken off at the till and that quite a few of the staff were forgetting.
Think people are doing quite big shops at the moment so it isn't always obvious that the £25 hasn't come off.
Got a refund of DD =£50 so £25 better off. And the CS assistant was lovely about it too.
Hope this info helps someone. I think it's going to be down to whether the till operator is on the ball or not. :T0 -

Firstly, the policy should be at every till on an A5 sheet, or on the CS desk again on an A5 sheet, if it's not on a blue board.
Even if it's not there, question it and say that your mum got overcharged on some cheese/random small item the other day here and she got double. They are just conning you if they don't follow the policy.
Please don't take offence, OP, this isn't meant as a dig at you, but your second point is also a con. An overcharge is an overcharge, regardless of who caused it, or how. You saw a product advertised at a price and they charged you a higher one. It is their fault if their staff can't follow their procedures. I know you didn't have a board to point at in this case, but there are no exclusions shown on that board relating to their overcharge policy, be it who, where, when or how."Life was easier when I didn't have a clue"0 -
Read on another thread that Cranium is instore for £7.50. Got there and indeed there is an SEL for £10 and then seperate signs mentioning 25% to be deducted at the checkout. Nothing deducted for me, so off i goes to CS and gets £5 back. Lovely!
It's unlikely to be in every store, since the thread I read before the person actually had the amount deducted at the till, so it might just be a few stores.
Also - Santa & Reindeer large gift bags, expired SEL 92p, scan at £1.23 so 62p back.0
