After Eight Dark mints in the packets not boxes, £1.98 each or 2 for £3.00, discount not deducted at till, CS refunded DTD no problems. Good pressies for teachers for just over a quid:DRebel No 220

My first ever DtD.
Went to Tesco last night and bought 2x Tesco Finest Chicken with Mozzeralla and Pancetta.
There was a yellow sign saying 2 for £5 (original price £3.99 each).
When I was packing up the car I noticed that I had been charged full price for the two (£7.98) I had doubts as to whether I had the courage to go challenge the price, but eventually armed with receipt I went back in. It was 3 o'clock in the morning (don't ask) and I didn't think they would have the correct staff to deal with the overcharge, however I was directed to the night manager. He asked me to go and get the items back out of my car (back out to the freezing cold). I was then marched to the fridges to prove my claim (at this point I started to doubt myself... had the price been right... could I deal with the humilation of all the staff thinking I was being petty... I was obviously inconveniencing the manager due to the look of disgust on his face and the fact he hadn't said a word to me).
Anyway price was right.. so I was marched back to cs desk. He rung some stuff through the till and offered me back £2.98. I looked round for a sign stating the DtD policy - which to be frank I wasn't fully sure I understood - there wasn't one but I thought sod it in for a penny in for a pound. I asked him if they were not supposed to refund DtD on misprices to which he asked "do we?" and put a big display on about looking around him for written guidance - I stayed silent mostly dumbstruck at such a pathetic show of trying to save face to which I duely received £5.96!! Yah!
Result: 2x really nice chicken things for £2.03!
Well done, it's one reason I'd never work for Tesco. Part of your job description is to be a bear faced liar.Quotes in context only please.0 -

I got a DTD on some Wolf Bass red wine last week - sticker sad half price but I was charged full price.
Harold, you're right to correct the "bear" misquote but, if you're going to do so, make sure you're word-perfect yourself.
"Wolf Bass" should be "Wolf Blass" and as for 'sad' stickers, need I say more?0 -

I bought 2 bags of After Eight mints. All SEL and signs were showing the 2 for £3 deal but they went through at full price. I only noticed when I got home so went back with a friend and while I went to the CS desk, she picked up 6 packs and went through the till. CSA gave me R&R with a smile instead of DtD;) .
When my friend went through with the 6 packs they went through at 3 for £5. This meant that there was only a £1 overcharge (6 @ 3 for £5 = £10, 6 @ 2 for £3 = £9) so watch this if you try to get a bulk DtD (put them through 2 at a time for maximum DtD).
It almost wasn't worth it for a £1 overcharge, i.e. £2 DtD, but after much working out with a calculator and numbers on a scrap of paper she asked my friend to 'check the sums' for her to make sure the DtD of £5.76 was correct - good old CSAs!:rotfl:
We know how she worked it out because she was mumbling to my friend as she did it:
She worked out the £1 overcharge. Doubled it for DtD = £2.
There was a discount of £1.88 (the discount showing on the receipt for the 2 lots of 3 for £5), which the CSA also doubled (for DtD) = £3.76
Add the £2 overcharge onto the doubled discount (!?!) to get a DtD refund of £5.76! Work that one out...Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares? He's a mile away and you've got his shoes.0 -
I do mean 'bear' some of the CSAs look gruesomeQuotes in context only please.0

Spotted a misprice today.
Tesco Fresh Pasta Italian sausage and Ham Tortelloni 300g. Flashed on pack as 2 for £2.50 but went through till as 2 x £1.55. Multi save not deducted so DD = 2 x 60p = £1.20. Hope this helps someone. Sell by date on the pack was 14th Jan and I bought the pasta in a Tesco Express. Was a suggestion by the manager that they weren't doing the DD anymore but I said that wasn't the case in the bigger Tesco near where I live so he just gave me the money.
Anyone else heard anything about the possibility of DD being dropped?0 -
Not heard anything about DTD being dropped, but noticed last Saturday in my Tesco (largish but not an Extra) as I was queueing for my refund on my grapes that had been scanned twice, that the big blue board behind CS had gone! So not sure what that was all about, but I just got my refund for the double-scan and got SA to add on my green points for my bags for life at the same time. Didn't mention DTD as the board wasn't there for me to refer to, and also as I've read on here before, DTD doesn't apply to operator error, just on overprices.

Funnily enough I was at CS in my store the other day and noticed exactly the same thing...0
