    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)
  • My first ever DtD.

Went to Tesco last night and bought 2x Tesco Finest Chicken with Mozzeralla and Pancetta.

There was a yellow sign saying 2 for £5 (original price £3.99 each).

When I was packing up the car I noticed that I had been charged full price for the two (£7.98) I had doubts as to whether I had the courage to go challenge the price, but eventually armed with receipt I went back in. It was 3 o'clock in the morning (don't ask) and I didn't think they would have the correct staff to deal with the overcharge, however I was directed to the night manager. He asked me to go and get the items back out of my car (back out to the freezing cold). I was then marched to the fridges to prove my claim (at this point I started to doubt myself... had the price been right... could I deal with the humilation of all the staff thinking I was being petty... I was obviously inconveniencing the manager due to the look of disgust on his face and the fact he hadn't said a word to me).

Anyway price was right.. so I was marched back to cs desk. He rung some stuff through the till and offered me back £2.98. I looked round for a sign stating the DtD policy - which to be frank I wasn't fully sure I understood - there wasn't one but I thought sod it in for a penny in for a pound. I asked him if they were not supposed to refund DtD on misprices to which he asked "do we?" and put a big display on about looking around him for written guidance - I stayed silent mostly dumbstruck at such a pathetic show of trying to save face to which I duely received £5.96!! Yah!

Result: 2x really nice chicken things for £2.03!

We got a Babyliss Hairdryer at Tesco Direct in Staines on Wednesday - it was priced at £29.99 but coming up at £32.00 - the chap on the tills spotted it & got it overridden so we paid the correct price.

In case anyone wants one for Christmas with some money off?

  • Not sure whether this is the same leaflet as Geomum's post, but the one I picked up today contains a coupon for £2.50 off H&B products when you spend £10.00. I was given the discount (even though the coupon was refused) when I bought contact lense solutions today in Abingdon.
