    Bit late, sorry.
Went in last week, bought After Eights (the normal ones) reduced from 2.39 to 2.00 signs everywhere, and I checked they were for the normals boxes rather than jus for the dark version.

Was charged 2.39 went to CS to tell them, and she took ages to check the prices. When she got back (I peeked what she was doing while she was gone) she said the sign was in the wrong place for another item. I told her I read that it meant the normal ones, she just goes i'll give you a refund for the extra.

obviously, no DTD, so I asked, isnt it DTD and she goes well the sign was in the wrong place. So i said, no it wasnt.... it said original variety. She gave me DTD, GRUDGINGLY!

went back, and they were rearranging the entire shelf, and removed about 6 signs for After Eights!

They will just agree with SM, had this before as they do say as OP mentioned that it is NOT an overcharge but "operator error"

Stand your ground. I've had long running battles with HO over things in the past including written complaints to HO and the store, indeed making it 100% clear that if they do not follow its own policy, the entire document pack will be submitted to the local newspaper and trading standards. I have not lost yet.

Problem is that they can't argue this. Their policy states that if you are charged more than indicated on the shelf or product. It doesn't say that "We'll give you DTD only if our cannot be arsed, underpaid, badly treated staff make an error". The wording of the policy is very clear and written in plain simple English. There's no margin for error in intrepreting it.

If there's a margin for error, it's with the staff and Tesco systems and the consumer laws are in place to protect us from retailer's mistakes.

small sign stating 2 for £1.60 above the price.
    Multibuy discount not coming off so charged 96p x 2 - £1.92
    32p x 2 = 64p back on DTD.
  • Tesco Finest Sirloin Steak (2 pack) reduced to £11.02 p/kg from £16.45 p/kg - found lots of full priced packs, bought 3 packs and after a bit of a palava working out the DTD got over £17 refunded from a £24 spend! So not free but really nice very cheap steak .
Also the DTD/refund policy was missing from the customer service desk.

Sounds good, will be looking for some steak today. As for the customer boards I am not 100% but I think my locals has changed their board, DTD is still there but I think t&cs regarding returns has had a wording change.

last time i got a bgof i got fobbed off with you only get price for one back if its on bogof, but this time she did it without me asking...funny as it was the same girl!

tried the washing up liquid as mentioned above but 2 for£2 did kick in, needed some anyway.

    Innocent smoothies

Ticket price was 2.98 and 3.09, went through checkout at £2 each.

Don't think you can DTD on an underprice but a real bargain if you like smoothies!

Offer not kicked in ..as expected..

But CS was closed so was asked to come back in the morning...
    was I an idiot.... no
I kept going on and on and eventually they called someone higher up...
he only offered me the difference, so I asked about Tesco Price promise...he called another higher up and eventually got my DTD so free drinks...
  • I don't know if this has been posted but spotted a clanger on Tesco's site.

    Search for Tesco Vegetable Korma.

Only one product should come up on the search.

Click on 2 for £1 offer just below it.

There are loads of meals that shouldn't be in there.

Some are only showing up as 1p. A few in there for £3.29.

I went in to Tesco.com to check this out and ordered 30 ready meals:

15 Salmon and Broccoli Pie listed as 1p each (now at £1.99) - 15p instead of £29.85...

    15 Cod in Cheese Sauce & Veg Selection listed as 1p each(now at £3.49) - 15p instead of £52.35...

I chose the cheapest delivery slot - which was £3.99 - making my grand total £4.29 - for £81.70s worth of food!!!

Now I just to clear the freezer before Tuesday night! Hopefully they'll honour it? I got an email through confirming the order and delivery and the price as £4.29 - so will just have to wait and see when it's delivered.

    But THANK YOU!!!:T
