Hey Dude, we have both been around long enough to know that as long as the policy survives, so will this thread.

New faces come and go, good finders, lurkers, interesting staff, aggresive staff, but a few old hands remain.

Your mantra is, IMHO, the best policy in that the long term game heaps the most rewards.

I don't think either of us keep score on amount r&r'ed but we've done pretty nicely, I know.

I'll be here for a little longer yet!

    Yeh...I'll second that!!

    well said georgiac!

the dude is the voice of reason on here and helps a lot of people with his insight and thoughts. after reading posts 1&2 on the one of the previous boards i took the plunge with r+ring and haven't looked back - i stick to little and often which doesn't usually bring you too much trouble from the cs.
  • Is there sometimes some really big differences???

Sometimes the differences are very tiny. I think it may have been 306notout who got a £800 telly for being overcharged a penny. He got the reputation for having balls of steel for that one (and deservably so)

Sometimes the games are £2 out, sometimes a £8 dvd is £22, many of the Xbox packages were £20 overcharged.

Some are quite happy to get an r & r for on a penny overcharge but this may raise your profile.

If you heed the Dude's advice you'll get less hassle from CS and r & r longer.
    Cheers

I think you may have misunderstood the OP here...............or I have

I thought he was asking "if it was wrongly priced, did he then get the game for £30"

And was simply enquiring as to whether a £100 difference would mean getting it for £100 less rather than free on an RandR

Aploogies if I am reading it wrong.....see my previous answer.

Apologies if I am reading it wrong.....see my previous answer.

I think the OP did think as you suggested. Its not clear what he/she means by the differences remark. Maybe they'll clarify.

  • Having been a R&r er for a long while now, I am noticing more managers who tell blatent fibs about the policy, trying and succeedind in only partial repayments or point blank refusals. I think they see on this thread that other stores are openly flouting the policy and others are following suit.
Or an I imagining it? What do you think? I am not prepared to phone cs for obvious reasons
    Don't waste your words I don't need,
    Anything from you.
    I don't care where you've been or,
    What you plan to do.
  • My AAARRRGGGHHH!!! has now changed to an AAAHHH!!!

That is freeking quality! Trust me to not have paid attention to the best thread ever to exist!!!

What a weird thing to do! Part of my job is putting the prices down to the tills for a big retail chain - if we gave away the goods free for every time I've fk'd up then we would go under in a week!!! :D
  • Hi
when i got my phone it said on the yellow sel to spend 20 pounds in store nothing about airtime at the time CS told me they could only refund 20 pounds but suggested i phoned H/O ,they agreed overcharge and phoned store for me.After they has lost quite a few phones i guess that they changed the sel
    rgds
    Pickles

just spent ages catching up with this thread so sorry if i've already missed this. some people appear to have had success with the pebl phone (£20 off with £20 spend) but the sel actually says in v small wording that the £20 spend must be on airtime - anyone been picked up on this and managed to argue their case as writing too small to notice?
CS in store i saw it today is a complete cow and will try to get out of r+r any way possible (got her on two oasis cds today though).
