  • I'm sorry, but I find this attitude so completely repulsive.

And I hit your thanks button by mistake. If there was a repugnant button I would have hit that.

The Ethics thread is up the hall, round the corner, down the stairs and into the depths of the Moneysavers Arms, where you'll locate it in the Discussion Time forum.

  • I had a really nice day today - visited a Tesco Extra. The Rotary Club were outside and at the entrance there were staff giving out pieces of Christmas cake, mince pies and sweets. Lots of staff were wearing Christmas hats - it was lovely to see and really got me in the festive spirit. I headed over to the meat section and found some traditionally reared sirloin joints, SEL 12.19 per kilo but pack price was £14.19 per kilo. I got two packs and some other shopping - full R + R on the joint. This is something I really wanted and will mean that my family have some good food this Christmas. I never could have afforded this, so came away really happy.

    Thank you Mr T.

:T i agree! TE needs to realise by upseting people on this board it will couse them to react! And all that does is make people who work for Tescos look like him/her/it!

No it doesn't. The posts next to my name make me look like me.

Same goes for anyone else who posts. Its pretty much a fundamental understanding you need to have about how forums operate.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure

This is incorrect.....I accept that you have been told this....but its wrong.

This would give licence to have incorrect prices everywhere, with tiny little dates on them.

    Its misleading advertising.

I'll leave it to some one with more Consumer Law experience than me to give the "lawful" answer............but it cant be justified

Cue MUNT or Ben500 please...............or anyone else with this expertise

thanx so much leadhead......please can anybody give more info???.......please munt or ben500?????

H/O are using the same excuse with me too

Leadhead - I phoned my local TS officer today and all the TS have in the way of any 'punishment' for Tescos when they display out of date sels is to log them down as 'misleading advertising' against the store. I pointed out what you said about dates being on everything to cover the stores better, and was told this was something the stores COULD NOT get away with as a way of avoiding misprices at the till. I was only relaying the information that I found out today but if someone else on the forum can say it's wrong I will go with that as well. I was expressing it because there are a lot of newbies on here at present who might feel that fighting to the bitter end is the way to go.

You'll find it depends on the TS officer as to what advice they'll give out. logistically though, TS would have to find loads of price errors on a regular basis for anything to stand up.

The two posters I have seen in store today for games of the week PSP/DS/PS2 only show a WEEK COMMENCING date not a END date at all. It says it towards the top of the sheet on the right hand side and the ones I saw had 15/12/06.

I Posted a week or so ago saying that was refused an R+R on 4 DVD's and 2 Books..
After a phone call to HO (With No joy)
I then emailed our local trading standards and after a couple of VERY short emails to them, I got a reply to say that my Trading Standard man has been into the store and spoken to the manager and I am now to go back with my reciept and I will get a FULL R+R (although this is not the wording he used)

So I think he has had a little telling off for not compling to the policy don't you think????

Any chance you can post the format of your email....leaving out anything that identifies you or your area......so that others can copy it and may be have similar success.

A lot of us have found TS not very helpful in the past.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

LOL .... I just came by to see what's new on MSE misprice discussion and thought "WOW 4 pages in just a few hours!"

But alas, it turns out it's just Tesco Employee being unconstructive and taunting about a policy change that hasn't been confirmed or denied by anybody in authority.

If you intend to come over TE, to Every Little Penny Forum, then please be aware that you will have to behave yourself. :A

    But you ARE welcome.
