just spent ages catching up with this thread so sorry if i've already missed this. some people appear to have had success with the pebl phone (£20 off with £20 spend) but the sel actually says in v small wording that the £20 spend must be on airtime - anyone been picked up on this and managed to argue their case as writing too small to notice?
CS in store i saw it today is a complete cow and will try to get out of r+r any way possible (got her on two oasis cds today though).

Yes in some instances you are correct.

I got a few of these on Saturday, but also lost a few due to differently worded POS, or nearby leaflets.

On one ocassion, although the POS, specifically said when you "spend £20 in store*"

The "*" said "see leaflet"............on this ocassion, the nearby leaflet said that the £20 must be spent on airtime..........I let this go.

On other ocassions, the "*" said TandC apply....but there were no leaflets to show the TandC's.........RandRed these.

Its a bit of hit and miss really....you have to first find the POS, that says "£20spent instore".......then you have to follow on from there to see if a leaflet or TandC's are mentioned.

It all depends also of course on your ability to talk to CS and CS's ability to follow the "*"..........

If the SEL or POS says "Spend £20 on airtime"....you've very little chance of winning......no matter how small the writing IMHO.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

  • thanks floflo

    I have seen two types

    1. spend £20 on airtime get £20 off
    2. spend £20 instore get £20 off

these are not exact wordings and are in large bold print but on the second one the small print which says £20 must be spent on airtime is tiny and at the bottom

    just seen leadheads post

gonna go back tomorrow and will try if different cs on duty
    nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Yup, once the odd trolls arrived, the usual gobby ones antagonising everyone and Tesco-ites winding up the regulars it was down hill from there.

Never mind, plenty more more sites to choose from.

Hey - come on Georgiac - keep the faith.

There is no vetting, Ole made that quite clear on several occassions, you were made welcome and you still are. TE constantine, Spa and anyone else have been welcomed with opens arms- why? because there are two sides to a coin.

The point of the new forum is obvious for all to see, which is why people have been flooding to join, so much so we have lifted all entry restrictions because we simply cannot keep up !. I would also say that the new forum is much easier to navigate and find the information your looking for !, misprices in an easy to read format (clutter free ! and no more annoying discussion on the misprices only thread) easy to find scanner locations, a trade centre to swop your r&r's....and so much more !

but hey nobody has ever forced your hand.

    keep up the good work

I was under the impression that the main aim of a new forum was to prevent Mr T finding out from such a forum, where his misprices were!

And in such, dont understand the open invite to TE.

I dont think I have ever implied that anyone in anyway has tried to force my hand.........and am quite chuffed that my prescence would be appreciated....I am still contemplating my decision.

As I understand it, the main aim of the forum changed when the admins realised that it was impossible to keep tesco (individuals) out. And realised that they didn't need to keep them out really. Aren't we all managing just fine inspite of those Tesco people on the MSE forum? Well I think so anyway!!

So as I understand (and have experienced it so far), the purpose of the new forum is to provide a better, more stable base for the r&r'ing community, than MSE. Which for the reasons we have all experienced, is becoming a little bit squeezed.

R&R'ers now have the choice to go to a purpose built forum (that is different boards for different purposes, a new post for each misprice), misprice dedicated admin/mods to keep the peace efficiently, and SPACE (not limited to two single posts for ALL THAT INFO!!!!).

Anyway as is often the case, you don't know what you're missing 'till you experience it for yourself. So my advice is take the plunge, you can always post here too or revert to here in the future!!

hey guys, i need to talk to H/O tomorrow, any answers for OOD SEL????
    please MUNT or Ben500 ....help?!?!?!?!?!??!?

    I'm a little confused.

    Take the example #4 in the original post;

"#4 - The Special Offer - this covers extra advertising away from any stickers or SELs - "all XBOX games under £30" and the like - if you find one for £30.99 you have a mis-price - also check the repeating TV adverts in Extra stores - you may see Tomb Raider 7 - Laura's Melons at a lesser price – but you do have a mis-price - but you will undoubtedly face an uphill struggle with CS as you argue your case - worth a punt!"

Does this mean I would get the game for £30?
If so (and most of the misprices I see in the other thread are for similar diferences), is it really worth such effort on everyones behalf?

Is there sometimes some really big differences???

Hey Dude, we have both been around long enough to know that as long as the policy survives, so will this thread.

New faces come and go, good finders, lurkers, interesting staff, aggresive staff, but a few old hands remain.

Your mantra is, IMHO, the best policy in that the long term game heaps the most rewards.

I don't think either of us keep score on amount r&r'ed but we've done pretty nicely, I know.

I'll be here for a little longer yet!

No....it means you get to keep the game and get your original £30.99 refunded, as according to the sign(all games £30), you have been overcharged.

I think you need to understand the policy first.....it states

"And if things don't add up ~ In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price than on the shelf or the product we will refund your money and you can keep the product"
