Tesco misprice discussion area part 16

Got an R&R a couple of days ago that cost a bit more than a few quid. CS was very nice and agreed I had been overcharged, then a guy came to the desk took the SEL and disapeared. CS told me he "had to go and check something". A bit confusing because the item on the SEL was what exactly what I'd bought but I'd been charged more so there wasn't much he could check.
About 20 minutes later a completly different guy in a suit came to the desk, uttered a few words to the CS and shortly afterwards I was walking out with my free gift.
What were they doing for 20 minutes?0 -

Not having anyone able to find out information about me I don't want to share is important to me, as I am sure you can appreciate.
My IPA is my version of a CC on an R&R
Edit:-cross posted with Spa.
What do you think could happen from knowing your IP ?0 -

Had this happen 4 times recently...mainly with the Moet
In my case they were checking with HO.
And of course its another bit of the intimidation thing.....don't want to give you it too easyCouponing....."every little hurts"

But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Please forgive me - I am new to this board, I only became aware of the 'R&R' policy at Tesco today!! (never knew it existed!!!).....
Some quick questions:-
1) When you purchase your mispriced product and pay at the till - is it best to then go to customer services (instore) or can you ring them up (CS) and explain the misprice??
2) when at the cs desk - is it best to mention their r&r policy to them or act 'innocent'?, what if they still refuse to give the r&r?
3) How do you know that a product will scan at a higher price? is it best to get products with stickers on them that show a lower price but clearly state on the SEL a high price? When it shows a high 'SEL' and sticker label is showing a lower price - will this always scan as a misprice???
- nb what is OOD?
I hope that makes sense (sorry for sounding thick!!) would be grateful for any replies to clear things up. THANK YOU!!!0 -

I have seen simple programs which can tell by your IP address which area you are from(or at least where you are logging on from)
Although they wernt too accurate, area information would be too much to give away for me.
If need be (Billionaire Tescos) could find more sophisticated software
No paranoia....just a simple "if needs be" statement.
PM me your IP address if you wish me to try and locate your area.
This isnt an open offerCouponing....."every little hurts"

Not sure but this happened to me once.... when a manager came back to me he said that "they had to go and check who had put the SEL there" - he was gone for 20 minutes too. I got the feeling that he might have nipped off to have a 'quick' look at CCTV recordings to check I hadn't put it there myself, but that's just me speculating.0 -
