Tesco misprice discussion area part 16

Not sure about this one as I hadn't quite got the time (or more importantly the courage) to try it but hope this might help someone or that someone could advise me if this might be a R&R to try for a nervous first timer!:o
Saw bottles of a nice sparkling white wine (Codorniu Brut Reserva Cava) should be £8.99 yellow SEL says half price £4.49. Now I know the white one does go through at the lower price (I bought one to test) but there is a pink Codorniu Brut Reserva Cava of the same label next to to the white on the shelf with a white SEL saying £8.99. I don't know if the pink one goes through at full price or not but if not it could be argued that the yellow SEL applies to both pink and white as it doesn't specify which. Presumably that might make it an R&R.
Any thoughts anyone?“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

Just as a side note - what's the deal with all the bickering in here?
I tried to look in the thread before posting my query but just gor bored with all the playground trash talk!!!
Must admit..."Guilty as charged"
Unfortunately peoples different personalities and opinions are sometimes hard to control.
Some people are Trolls....just post to cause agro.
Others cant resist feding these trolls(including me at times)
Sometimes it gets very heated.
A lot of the time, its a brilliant thread with input from both sensible and experienced RandRers and similar natured Tesco managers and employees.
There is another thread for posting misprices only(no discussion)....here

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Some quick questions:-
1) When you purchase your mispriced product and pay at the till - is it best to then go to customer services (instore) or can you ring them up (CS) and explain the misprice??
2) when at the cs desk - is it best to mention their r&r policy to them or act 'innocent'?, what if they still refuse to give the r&r?
3) How do you know that a product will scan at a higher price? is it best to get products with stickers on them that show a lower price but clearly state on the SEL a high price? When it shows a high 'SEL' and sticker label is showing a lower price - will this always scan as a misprice???
- nb what is OOD?
I hope that makes sense (sorry for sounding thick!!) would be grateful for any replies to clear things up. THANK YOU!!!
1) I always used to try to go to the car and then return, nowadays I cant be bothered and just walk along the back of checkouts checking my receipt. Never go home as the price will be gone by the time you ring up!!
2) Act inocent, but keep lookin at teh blue board, and let them see you reading it!!!
3) there is no guarantee, sometimes, it will scan correct in one store but not another. If it scans right either par and take it back later or forget your walletWe took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0 -

Ah well, nothing like some friendly banter! hee hee. I sometimes like playing devils advocate myself so if you see Scoobacow posting you'll know to blame Aquapanther!
Do the Tesco employees post mistakes they've noticed too?0 -
