  • so it's best to state 'an alternative address'?!

The one I saw was just a normal size (approx 10 x 4 cm) attached to the shelf. It was directly in front of the bottles of white wine but could have applied to the pink ones next to it... bit dodgy but an expert might be able to do it!

Well if it's non-specific and doesn't have the product barcode on it you are in with a chance.

    Yep.

I think I'm going to start saying I'm a gypsie with no permanent address.
  • Spent 20mins waiting for CS and various members of staff to agree I'd been overcharged on 2 lots of Kronenbourg 1664, offered the difference, tried my best to argue the point but was told I hadn't been overcharged in the right way to get R'n'R. I was too embarrassed to continue arguing the point, plus I had used a large number of vouchers, so I left with just the difference.

    What should I do now???

one of my locals now only ask for house number and postcode then go back to computer terminal - so i'd make sure you have a valid address in mind.
personally i always give next door to my mums or a previous address as i know these postcodes.

edit: its been mentioned plenty of times but never give your real name either (unless you have paid by card in which case they will have it in front of them)

Not much you can do now to be honest as the problem has been 'resolved' by you accepting the difference.

By offering you the difference they were conceding that you had been overcharged, hence the r&r policy should have applied.

I'm interested to know how they claimed you were not overcharged in the 'right way'.

I'll try and answer this satisfactorily in case either MUNT or Ben500 don't post tonight.

Tescos must display a price for their product.

In the event they display an incorrect price, or an out of date price, you have clearly been overcharged.

I would suggest before ringing HO tomorrow, you ring the store, ask to speak to the store manager (not the duty manager).

Tell him your story, tell him you have spoken to TS and they say that an accurate price MUST be displayed for the product.

If the price displayed is lower than the actual price of the item, regardless of wheher the sign is out of date....this is the most that can be charged.

If more is charged, it is clearly a misprice.

In line with Tescos policy, you have clearly been overcharged.

Tell them they advised you to ring HO, but decided it would be better to allow him to correct it first.

If he refuses, and you think it is worth it, ring HO with the same story.

If HO knock you back, ring again until you get someone who sympathises with you, or you feel you are getting no where.

I'm sorry I cant quote the relevany law, but wouldnt know where to find it, whereas MUNT and Ben500 appear to "know it off by heart" or have it at their fingertips.

I see no point in asking this question again, as if its answerable, someone will pick up on this and follow it on.

Hope this helps everyone with similar "out of date" SEL or POS problems.

The beer we have been RandRing all week has had OOD signs on it.
    :T

    Many thanks much clearer now:p
    hope for the best:j

Yeh....Good advice.....Ive always advocated giving a false postcode...

however it should be valid, in case this happens....
