Coupon-mad, Im inocent it was the dog that said it
I cant remember what I typed last night never mind a few days ago. The way I would go about that would be to take the case to the checkout, pay andthen go to to CS and say there was another box on the shelf that said it was £297 there is also less chance of the checkout bod noticing the over charge on the box and correcting it.
teedy23, most of the time tesco dont blatently plan to rip people off It may sound strange but they don't all over charges are due to a mistake, either the person who should have changed the SEL, the person who came up with the buy a console and GotW and save £10/£20 and putting the wrong game on the poster etc LOL or the person who should have removed the stickers. they dont go out there thinking I will leave that SEL/sticker/screwed up offer there to trick people in to buying the item everything is a mistake. Tesco are singled out for these mistakes as it is advantagous to us that we find them, should the doubel the difference come int o play then most of the mistakes wont be worth going after. the £19.94/£34.97 PSP games would be and BOGOF's would be on but a few pence on a 32" sony tv you wouldnt bother even chaseing it.0 -
little john, I,m quite sure that tesco didnt mind too much until a growing throng of people became aware of what was happening, and if the custemers who were being overcharged went straight to trading standards every time an overcharge occured, Tesco would be in much deeper doo-doo. Any one know of a spelling book misprice:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

I'm an assistant manager in a clothes shop, and when we reduce end of range clothes etc we put a reduced price sticker on the tag and a paper collar over the hanger with the was/now prices writen on.
We get dodgy people who take collars off a cheaper item and put it on an item that is not reduced (no sticker on the tag confirms this) or an item that is reduced but at a higher price.
When these dodgy people get challenged at the till, they soon back down.
And yes, we do recognise the same customers over and over again and the ones who refuse to make eye contact.0 -

Ok need some advice please.
Found a tesco showing an OOD SEL for an xbox360. Deal was "when you buy any xbox360 console & any xbox360 game you save £20." I took bought the product and got overcharged by £20 as the offer wasn't recognised.
Went to CS and told them of the overcharge who then checked out the deal and told me that the offer was out of date (ended on 26/12/2006).
I informed them that it was not not fault and under the R&R promise askedfor my refund.
Off CS trotted to speak to the manager. CS come back and say ok manager will refund the overcharge of £20, i pointed out the policy written on the wall behind CS and said i would like the full refund as stated.
A phonecall back to the manager and he agreed to refund the full price.
Thinking i was on to a winner the CS proceeded to only refund the cost of the game (£39.94). I told CS that i should be refunded for the who cost not just the game as nowhere did it state that only the game would be reduced by £20.
Off to the manager again with my request and CS came back stating the manager will only allow a refund for the game.
Asked to speak to manager and after going over it all again, the manager was still sticking to his guns insisting that he had spoken to head office and he only had to refund for the game.
I pointed out that i would have to contact trading standards about this but it was like water off a ducks back.
I ended up walking out with 1 xbox and 1 game, no refunds and very annoyed.
I did get the SEL from them along with a letter from the manager stating what he was willing to refund.
What i want really is some advice on whether i was in the right to ask for a full refund and if so what is ny next course of action.0 -
My local Tesco has changed their policy boards to say that you get double the difference back and not a full refund .... can they do that?0

Sure they could IF it is an authorised board from HO and not just a written/typed up sign.
What did it look like?

Bit of fun,cos I'm bored

Still bored so thought I'd post it here. Haven't posted for a while, Hi everyone
Hi
Perhaps your CSA was one of the new trial robotic ones that Mr T has spent some of his large profits commissioning, in the hope of increasing his profits further by denying customers refunds when he overcharges them.
These new robotic CSAs are programmed with people behaviour recognition skills, and are particularly sensitive to nervousness. This is typified by shifty eyes, shaking hands, a faint blush, and in particular the 'R&R walk'. This is recognised as a slightly stiff legged gait, caused by the tight clenching of the buttocks in anticipation of a refusal of the CSA to 'play the game by the rules', and of the ritual humiliation they may endure at the tongue of said CSA.
The new robotic CSA is fully programmed with all of the standard refusal excuses, as listed below:
Policy, what policy?
You haven't been overcharged, the till just didn't take off the discount.
It's not a valid overcharge as it was human error.
Sorry, there is no SEL at a lower price.
It's too much for a full refund, you may have the difference only.
There is a label that states Unit price is a guide only, meat is covered by this sign. You can't be overcharged on meat.
The shelf label is out of date, it doesn't count.
I'll cancel the transaction, & you can buy it again at the lower price.
You're not having that for nothing, (snatches up item & walks away.)
You've done this before, haven't you? I know your face, you were in here last week! No, you can't have a refund, bu**er off, & next time you come in speak to the manager before you start to shop.
You have been reading those internet sites. You bought these items knowing you would be overcharged. You are abusing our generous policy designed for our genuine customers to be reimbursed, in the extremely unlikely event they are overcharged on the odd item. As you are abusing the policy, you're banned!!
Watch out for these new model CSAs being rolled out on the first of April this year.
They will be replacing the reasonable, polite, helpful, follow the policy humans that a lot of us deal with at present, as a top priority.
:rotfl: :rotfl:
