The employee's signature is above the Tesco logo on the receipt. However, the writing that says "price should be £xxx" is below the logo (so no chance of just cutting it off and presenting the receipt!)

Used club card, but haven't had that many other successes from Tesco R&R-wise (save for some beer at another store but that was amongst a lot of shopping and I think I used my clubcard with cash). My friend paid with cash both times for the recent couple of R&Rs and does not have a clubcard.
Mutilating a receipt can always be explained "Oh I used the other half to enter a competition, I won a mountain bike too!!"

Latest on the mentilator©: As a result of a minor malfunction the mentilator© needed to be shut down for a short period of time this afternoon, Lloyds of London have announced losses of £4 Squillion as a result of damage caused by falling supermarket trollies and students.

Was it the carboard box with gears of war and the price printed on each side saying 297.81 because I found one of those and it scanned at 297.81.

I think this must have a different barcode to the dvd case of the same bundle and they have not put the price up on this

    Sorry, wrong thread

T'was the dvd case :( If anyone happens to know any in the west-east of scotland and they don't want it could the please pm me?Worth a try:o

very off topic but the tesco in lea valley london have taken all the xmas lines and moved them to the season isle which they have blocked off at each end with 3 large trolleys.
yesterday we wanted a yule log a manager said the isle is being sorted and is not open yet later we saw staff filling their trolleys with items and yet we were still told the isle is closed while at the till the lady getting the xmas lines said "i'm so sorry you see all the items are reduced and the store manager has decided its staff only"
Is it just us or is that disgusting ?
so what next "you can't have BoGoF because its for staff only"

Sounds like a good boss, giving his staff a (very small) perk. I am sure there will be plenty left once they have finished (otherwise they would not have bothered filling the shelves with it).

I can certainly think of many other things I would describe as disgusting

Would have been better for customer relations if it was done out of hours or not in such a noticeable way in front of customers.

Any PID department probably lets staff know first of any bargains (I would) but best to do it subtly rather than rub the customers up the wrong way.

Yes I agree, somewhat insensitive! Our Managers always do it subtly (out of hours) and staff bargains (end of lines, slightly out of date items) are placed at the rear of the store next to the staff entrance. Items are not priced but donations are made to the Social Club for the kids Christmas party.

I received my normal crappy free Friday newspaper tonight and inside was a Tesco A3 flyer inside promoting cheap products and sale items etc....

Anyway...in TINY letters at the bottom of the flyer in the terms and conditions it states ... " Buy an equivalent product for less in any UK supermarket (excludes online) and we'll give you the difference next time you're in store . Receipts needed, see instore for details"

This is the most interesting development in this discussion forum for months.... either I have missed this policy or this is a new policy or a crazy new head office policy - please TE confirm if this is true?

If it is true I am going off to find one of the products cheaper - then I am going to Tesco for difference (it doesn't say I need to buy the item from Tesco just they'll pay me the difference!!!) and then I'm gonna take back original item....

Please someone with a legal mind check their Friday Free newspaper (our is called THE ADVERTISER) and see if you can clarify what they mean!?

Right here is thumbnail to show you Tesco flyer I got through post...

    Tesco is my second home

  • That is definately how it reads if you have a reciept, I am not sure how you will fare if you try it but do let us know wont you.

Probably only best to try if you actually want or need the product.

    * Buy any equivalent product for less in any UK supermarket (excludes online) and we'll give you the difference the next time your instore. Reciepts needed.

So what product has the * next to it because none of the items that you are showing have, you might find it is the food.
