  • I like probably all of you, work very hard for your money!!!!

I like all of you do not like being overcharged!!

However, Tesco do curently have a Policy of refunding all your money plus the item you purchased if you are overcharged. Which in theory is a very good policy, better than any other UK Supermarket.

From reading all these Threads it seems that this Policy is not dealt with and carried out by CS staff as it should be, which to me is wrong! We should honour this policy and promise to our customers in all our stores.

Everyone who deals with this side of the business knows that this R&R is used and also abused, as I have already said it is a fact of life and business come to that, that some people do abuse this and other policies.

I am not happy that so called Tesco Employees referred to our customers as immoral and cheats, that is simply not on. I would be furious if I was overcharged like some of the people on these thread are, and I would expect exactly the same as everyone else does that shops at Tesco.

We do learn a lot from these threads you know they are all very useful and a lot of use are appalled at the way some of you are treated by our CS colleagues.
All I can say is that I am office bound at Cheshunt, and do not work in a store, but obviously I am a Tesco customer like the rest of you.

Wouldn't this one be great for a double the difference policy (if it applied on Tesco.com):

    http://www.tesco.com/entertainment/product.aspx?R=730218&in_merch=1&in_merch_title=Hot+products&in_merch_name=Hitch

Hope the link still works, look at the price!

P.S. thanks to the OP (wileycat on Shop but don't Drop).

Thanks, can I just press you a little more on deliberate RandRing, and the exploitation of the policies......although we see it as being totally legal....what are your views on our deliberate searchings.

I appreciate, that we may be abusing the policy.

And(sorry), Do you know if the policy is to be changed in the near future as rumoured.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Good to hear the views of someone who can wear both the 'corporate' hat and 'consumer' hat and give a good balanced opinion.

Yes there are horror stories about the service people have recieved (me included), but just the same there are stores that are very good - in fact one of my local stores is excellent with regards to CS.

Unfortunately you cannot walk into two different Tesco stores and expect the same treatment. From my observations, each store seems to have it's own culture, and regardless of training/re-training etc it's simply down to the individuals that you are dealing with - their character and attitude, along with that of their superiors, will prevail and determine what kind of service you will receive.

Ermm I don't like her music but if anyone lives anywhere near Norfolk and wants the CD then PM me...so we are not all immoral as I could have had a free CD but didn't bother as I am not going to take one just for sake of it and now I'm giving the stores in Norfolk the chance to sort out the price if this thread is really being monitored by them...

It's on display in the store at two different prices - trading standards wouldn't like that but I am being nice and not telling them about that either - so overall I am not a greedy R+R'er
    Tesco is my second home

As a Price Integrity / Loss Prevention manager at Tesco Corporate, I would like to thank the members of this forum for their time in bringing us this useful information. I would also like to remind our delightful customers using this forum that repeated abuse of the overcharge policy will lead to exclusion (banning) from your local stores and in some extreme cases has led to nationwide bans and even police involvement.

Customer Service Managers in store are within their rights to refuse a Refund and Retain if they beleive that (as in all of your cases) the customer is deliberately seeking to find misprices around the store armed with prior knowledge. A fact I will make every effort to remind staff in our stores of, and this website will serve as an excellent training tool to spot future fraudsters.

    Kind Regards.

If you really are who you say you are you would be advised to check your contract of employment about what you can and cannot engage in, particularly with respect to your contact with the general public.

Edit Also someone in your position, making a considered reply, would know how to spell believe

Further Edit. On consideration perhaps you do work for Tesco as if you can't spell is it surprising that you can't get the prices right even when told

Xbox 360's still going thru at wrong price (caught Mr tesco with his pants down today and spanked him!) SEL was £279.94, asked the lady on the till if she could scan it for me, she did and it came up at £299.99 i remarked thats a good price and she said did i want to go ahead and purchase it? Why of course i did at that price!!

went to customer service (grumpy b*@ggers!) and said just bought an xbox 360 can i have it please, they were amazed i was actually buying something for a change! then dropped the bombshell about being £20.05 overcharged and their faces dropped!

Duty manager report to CS 15 minute wait and manager turned up asked if i had been overcharged - yes he said refund the gentleman then and walked off.

Happy as Larry and It also plays dvd's so will be able to play Planet Earth that i got earlier in the day!!
