Definitely no change in Policy in my store!;)

As with the Green CC points, I suspect it is (possibly) being trailed before national roll out.

I have also heard nothing about it, apart from on here.

Just had a struggle at my local.
CS tried to say my RnR wasnt an overcharge because the yellow sel had expired by 2 days.(even though it was the ONLY price showing).

Got full RnR in the end but CS not happy about it.

    Carlsberg 18pk sel 2 for £16... scanned £12.99.
    Sel now removed.

  • Out of interest, Tesco workers on here if you can help me, is Tesco really in a stage of red alert over R&R at the moment? Or is it just on the long list of things they watch over, shoplifting, dodgy staff (Not urselves!) etc

They certainly seem to be in red alert mode. A manager last week told me HO have told him to refuse any R+Rs over £10, mine was for about £40 of beer - he eventually backed down when I promised to go to TS. Another CS witch told me a similar thing last night in a different store but gave me the R+R on a DVD "just this once" (gee, thanks). They also seem to be more vigilant about marking receipts; I've had about 12 in a row without a Golden opportunity.

Shame their state of red alert doesn't extend as far as not overcharging people in the first place, but I suppose that concept's a bit too radical for them.

Speaking for my store only, their main concern is not failing on "I don't Q", so we are constantly calling for Multiskillers etc to man the checkouts!! Then there's the overspend on budget for having staff in to open all vacant checkouts and it was quieter than expected but staff still have to get paid!

As for R&R it's definitely not red alert at our store. Of course, there are a couple of "jobsworth" on our CSD who will use every excuse in the book to wriggle out of adhering to the policy (it's quite embarassing at times! ) but myself and quite a few of my colleagues tend to "manipulate" the rules quite a bit (to the customers advantage)!! I always refund on OOD SEL's and double scans (which are classed as operator errors in some stores).

I'm more concerned with having to deal with the drunks and druggies!!! Give me a R&R'r anyday!!

  • I still think this R&Ring is immoral.

The last time I mentioned the reasons for this my thread was deleted. It's all very well saving money, but an R&R is not saving money, it's just purposely sharing information to try to take advantage of a company's good will.

I do hope Tesco will make more profit this year, despite everyone going out of their way to get as much as they can get from them.

I'm sorry to put a dampener on things, but I really do not call this moneysaving! In my opinion, if you can't accept mistakes happen in pricing, I would recommend you shop at ASDA, Waitrose, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Somerfield etc.

    Happy cheating!

The reason why the mistakes happen is coz Tesco put profits above accurate pricing, this to me is immoral

They could plough part of their £2.2bn profits into more accurate pricing but all they have done is shift the IT work to India. This will save them money but will only lead to even more misprices.

Happy cheating to your company too!
