I suppose there are circumstances where "Double the Difference" may be better. Say some fruit has been marked down from 99p to 19p but you're charged full price. Before you would have got 99p back, now you'd get £1.60.
However, it's not going to help much with a £20 overcharge on an XBox.

That's true, as with our Legally Blonde 2 DVD..

Although, for the bigger better ones I'm just gonna go on a round trip to our nearest tesco's.. trying to find an Xbox at the mo.

Does anyone know if this will soon happen nationally, or is it just our tesco's that's changed.. weird if it is..

Gonna check all other Tesco's r&r conditions on my trips around.

    Thanks:money:

Overheard at the CSD in Tesco today that as a company they refunded over £11,000 on X-Boxes this *WEEK*!

    EEK!
thats only 30 odd not a lot really in comparison

even a drop in the ocean to 2.2 billion
  • Thought it may have been more than that really, that's only 36 Xbox's.. all good all the same though : )
  • Just got the xbox 360 with gears of war. My second Xbox 360 in as many months. Just wondering is there a possibility of taking the refunded(FREE) Xbox 360 bundle to another tescos and exchanging it there for another product? As it doesn't say anything on my original receipt that it's been refunded.

Just wondering as i'd like £299.97 of a HDTV rather than about £200 what i'd get for it on ebay.

Thanks for any help on this.

    is this a wind up?
    apologies if it isn't

I'm due in work in an hour or so (on CSD) so will post later (around 11.30pm) when I get home.

If it has changed then I've still had no notification and I checked the Promise board when I popped in today (around 11am) and it hadn't been changed at that time.

    Will post later.

If it isn't marked on your receipt as an overcharge you could take it back for a refund, obviously at another store. Shouldn't be a problem.

Its pure speculation, these sort of figures would only be available to the buyer and people with very high access to certain figures and certainly not to a CSA. Unless of course the store has refunded £11k of xboxes in which case i would expect a few sackings before the end of the week.

As a Price Integrity / Loss Prevention manager at Tesco Corporate, I would like to thank the members of this forum for their time in bringing us this useful information. I would also like to remind our delightful customers using this forum that repeated abuse of the overcharge policy will lead to exclusion (banning) from your local stores and in some extreme cases has led to nationwide bans and even police involvement.

Customer Service Managers in store are within their rights to refuse a Refund and Retain if they beleive that (as in all of your cases) the customer is deliberately seeking to find misprices around the store armed with prior knowledge. A fact I will make every effort to remind staff in our stores of, and this website will serve as an excellent training tool to spot future fraudsters.

    Kind Regards.
