Yesterday I saw an in date offer which was advertising £10 off if you bought the two together.

Last night saw technika boom box with mp3 player OOD SEL £27.XX finished 24/12. Don't know what it scans at as my extra store has out of order signs on all three price scanners.

I checked this on December 27th and it scanned the same as the OOD SEL.

  • well hi every one...
not sure if this is the right place to put this but my local tesco no longer does r + r....

on new years day i had a row with a man at tesco who was calling him self the manager (even though he isnt) telling me that the new sign up for double the difference of the error are being changed, but they were the new ones...and the story completes it self below...thanks MR T

    they now do something else...

there sign now says ''we will double the difference of the error made''

now this may not sound good if the difference is a couple of pence, but in the case of legally blonde 2... i got charged £19.99 and it should of only been £3.93 so the difference is £16.06...so ii got back £32.12 :j

and kameo elements of power priced at £15.84 i got charged £39.99 so the difference was £24.13...so i got £48.26 :j

If it is the case we will see the new signs. As the newbie says in some instances they will have to fork out much more than you would have received on an R&R.

    Hi everyone,

Is there a fax or email address to make complains at Tesco? Before Christmas I bought 3 packs of Rump Steak. One had a cheaper price than the other two. So I posted receipt and the price tags to Tesco but I only received the difference (not the whole amount).

After pointing to the R&R policy in a second letter, I got the reply that:

"Unfortunately at the point of your visit the tills were inadvertently not set up in time to accept this particular offer. You were therefore charged full price as a result [...] Unfortunately this is not covered in our overcharge policy."

How many people have seen the 'new' "Our Promise" signs?

I say new, because it seems they have just put a big sticker over the r+r bit and written "double the difference of the error made there instead.

I visited a store recently that had all the huge "Our Promise" signs manually altered, and the checkout signs (the little white ones saying what credit/debit cards they accept) had all have little white film put across the part of the sign which says about r+r..

    Be on the lookout!
  • Afternoon,

Can confirm in our store, what kattskittle has posted is correct.. she's my 'better' half.. ha.

Been here for a long while but thought I'd join in the fun with r&r's with everyone else.

That's the short version of our story, had an argument with the so called manager, the 'our promise' advised double the difference. It's only just been changed from full R&R, he said the double the difference was wrong and should have been changed on Jan 1st, it was Jan 1st.. ha.

Although, we went in yesterday and got the double the difference.. looks like it's staying that way in our store.. but just keeping out for the 'good ones' for now..

FYI : Picked up recently :

    Office Season 1 & 2
    Kameo (Xbox360)
    Legally Blonde 2
    Need for speed Carbon (ps2)

You've all been very helpfull over the last few weeks with R&R's... thanks..

    mike

    EDIT :

It's still the old our promise signs with tape over the full r&r bit and a new sticker, as described above I think.

I suppose there are circumstances where "Double the Difference" may be better. Say some fruit has been marked down from 99p to 19p but you're charged full price. Before you would have got 99p back, now you'd get £1.60.
However, it's not going to help much with a £20 overcharge on an XBox.

I've still seen nothing to state that this is official corporate policy though.
    Can I help?
  • Overheard at the CSD in Tesco today that as a company they refunded over £11,000 on X-Boxes this *WEEK*!
