  • And if they don't in line with what TS expect we will offer it to you at the expired offer price.
And in line with the Tesco policy consumers should expect to be offered a refund and retain as they have paid more for their product that the advertised price.

Edit: As has been explained clearly previously, if stores are happy to allow customers to depend on OOD SELs for their pricing information for one product, they should be happy to do it for all products, otherwise why leave the OOD SEL in place?

no it should come in line with the if things dont add up catagory

But TS are not bothered with this just aslong as we sell it at the expired price, Granted i would offer an R+R on this but it seems to be that many stores are not and TS are simply not interested aslong as we offer it at the indicated price.

But many on here use the 'I'll go to TS' threat - Im just pointing out that despite the fact they are 'supposed' to be the consumer champions they are simply not bothered.

Yes that's correct - I've seen the new white SELs in only one store, however in another 4 stores the yellow SELs are still on display - if the store hasn't changed them then they are happy for the customer to be relying on the information. Happy for customers to be relying on OOD SELs.

In this case and in the case of I-Pods, X-Boxes etc OOD SELs with the correct price - People seem to twist whatever they want into their favour on here - Many people say the 'End Of Offer' date is too small to read and now 'We have to rely on the date':confused: Im not saying its right and yes it is mis leading but all will be revealed soon enough.

Yeah that's fair enough. I've never approached TS myself but I think that there are a few questions that need to be asked, particularly of the Tesco policy makers, as ultimately they are they ones that have created the policy and should be ensuring that stores adhere to it.

True, but there are two sides to the argument and many people have also said that Tesco representatives have done much the same thing. It's a fact of life that wherever there is 'ambiguity' in something people will have differing opinions, and you will normally try and argue that you are correct and influence the other party by using your interpretation of circumstances to sway their thinking towards yours. Until the ambiguity is addressed, whether it is from Tesco upper echelons or TS, or both, the same problems will remain. It would be a shame if the policy was scrapped because of these issues.

Sharkmark - you are wrong about TS. They will always back Tesco up with an OOD sel. All it is classed as is 'misleading' ie making the customer think they are going to get the item at that price stated, but the store does not have to honour it. Phone TS and see. It is what I say to everyone who think TS will back them up in this case. I think once you get the experience of a few 'knock backs' from Mr T you will change your point of view.

This is all very well up to the point of sale, once the transaction has been completed they are bound by legislation to honour the price advertised or face prosecution. Your information is not correct given the circumstances of the purchase already being completed. Prior to completion they can either sell at the lower price displayed or withdraw the item from sale, they CANNOT legally charge the higher price of two or more prices displayed and if they do TS have to act on your complaint, put it in writing DON'T use consumer direct they are next to worthless and poorly trained and informed.

My apologies to Tesco Employee for intruding on your thread.
