  • Of all the stores I have visited, there is only one that is a pain, on the whole all of the CS desk staff have always been very helpful and good natured.
Of course we should all expect them to offer us the difference first as we all want the product that we are purchasing! If they were my staff i would expect them to do this.
After they have done this we then explain to them about their policy and normally unless it is something big they will always then do a R&R.

Apparently - according to Tesco - OOD sel's count for absolutely nothing - in fact you may as well ignore them now in some stores. They may have an offer on, they may have a price on, but if the date has expired, so has your chance of an RnR, especially a 'biggie'. They way to go will be through glitches or pricing errors on regular sels'."

Not come across this myself - I got two of the finest phones (£150 each) and in both stores the expiry date had passed for the offer - they didn't even mention it and let me have it...

Might be worth keeping an eye on though if CS desks start refusing as this would NOT be acceptable under trading standards as technically OOD sale prices are still valid - otherwise shops could keep up out of date posters from 1963 saying "TV's - Only 10 shillings (expiry date 10/05/63)
    Tesco is my second home

I must admit I used to think like this as well until I remembered the TV commercials featuring Prunella Scales actively seeking out misprices so she could get goods for nothing. Thus the whole concept of "deliberate R+Ring" was created by Tesco themselves and, by advertising it in such a way, they have invited participation from members of the public.
"Obscene profits" don't come into it. R+R makes an insignificant hole in the balance sheet and matters to shareholders far less than many people here imagine.
    Can I help?

Isn't that what most of the people on the this thread do.....look here for information on items incorrectly priced and then take advantage of Tesco policy?

I know my last few Sunday dinners have been via Tesco R&R and I got some DVDs and lager for Christmas.

Yes....we would have eaten Sunday dinner anyway..... but I wouldn't necessarily have had the Chicken or whatever it was I got free from Tesco.

The DVDs.....were just extra Christmas pressies...if I hadn't known I had a good chance of getting them free I wouldn't have bothered with the extra pressies...what they had would have been enough.

The lager......yes we would have bought a few cans for Christmas....not a couple of cases....which I gave to my boys to take to parties.

I consider myself to be an honest person. I will go out of my way to help others if I can. I don't play the innocent when requesting a refund for overpriced items...merely state that I appear to have been overcharged and would they mind checking for me.

None of this makes me a thief....nor anyone else on this thread......and yes I tried for the Xbox package as well a couple of days ago (without success)
