Tesco misprice discussion area part 16

I think it depends on whether you are using the local store shopping part or if you have been transferred to "Tesco Direct". Tesco Direct is central, teh local store one is home delivery from your local store. Soirry if this sounds confusing0

I have never been able to discern a hard and fast pattern to be honest, some items are priced rigidly identical others not, some might be an indicator to a price increase/decrease again others not, it certainly wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on an item you see that fluctuates in this way.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
ben500 - I was advised by TS to take Tesco to Small Claims Court if I wanted them to honour a refund, as a private prosecution. It is very confusing all round as there is NO consistency in information that anyone seems to be able to get. I am at a loss as what else to say but it is very frustrating for everyone. I shall contact my TS office and see if I can press for a more concise clarification.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

Don't get me wrong it's not bad advice you can always pursue through small claims as breach of contract but to be honest the TA has fiduciary duty to pursue it on your behalf at no cost or risk to you.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
ben500 wrote:More flawed information I'm afraid, it IS within their remit, the problem is few understand why and how and those that do have little incentive to assist. In any event it is a far easier option to take up with Advertising Standards than TS, r&r is part of the terms of contract for any purchase made at Tesco whether they like it or not until they remove it from their policy and public display, anyone who tells you otherwise is likely to fall into one of the following categories, uninformed, uninspired or misleading. There is no difference between OOD sel or incorrect sel, both have the same effect on the shopper in that they are intended to influence the purchasing decision, if they do they are both misleading.
I have contacted the ASA in writing with a previous complaint about Tesco and they are not interested in any advertising within the store, either offer posters or the refund policy. What they were interested in was any advertisement of offers outside the store, tv ads etc. However a copy of the complaint I made on an official ASA complaint form was enough for Tesco to fold.0 -

Well having read this and the companion thread I thought I'd give it a go. It's a bit of a trek to our nearest big Tesco, but we needed groceries anyway.
SWMBO turns out to be really good at finding OOD SELs, so we tried for two:
1. A Braun Tassimo, Yellow SEL £79.97 Exp 26/12/06, charged £99.97.
2. A Samsung A503 digicam, White SEL £77.97, was about to be charged £77.97, so decided I didn't want it.
I got a full R&R on the Tassimo. CS tried to give me the discounted price but I "noticed" the sign behind her.
I'm fairly chuffed with the outcome of my first venture into the world of Tesco misprices.:j0
