I'd probably leave it & see whether he comes back again.
Have you checked him out on goofbay to see whether he buys lots of Chanel bags?

And the rest! Don't google Hermes Birkin then:eek: They are beautiful, but:eek:

I had to look up Hermes Birkin on ebay after reading this and found that there is a bag that costs more than our first house did http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HERMES-BIRKIN-SANGUINE-35-MATTE-CROCODILE-/380350587598?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item588ea962ce

We bought the house 13 years ago, but even so, would you take a 3 bedroom, two reception cottage or the bag that Kate Moss has. Crazy money.

Ludicrous, more money than sense some people.
In some places you can still buy a house for that price. I'm not sure if I would ever pay that amount for a bag even if I were to win the Euro Millions.

If money was no object i would definitely own a Birkin or 2:whistle:

There are nicer bags though, i have my eye on a few Balenciaga and Chanel ones.

I prefer vintage, shabby looking ones myself. They suit my vintage shabby persona.
Where could you use it without running the risk of being mugged?

    still not heard from him!

Range the chanel store, louise not there but spoke to another SA. I made up a story and said that i wanted to bring a vintage bag in for polish but the bag had no markings, and had been told that Chanel wouldnt polish it or repair unless it was authenticated by Chanel - they said yes they send the bags away and it takes 5 weeks and if the bag is fake it is destroyed. i asked if she had come across vintage bags with no markings and she said she couldnt comment and i would need to bring the bag to the store where the manager would be able to confirm if bag was real (this differs to what buyer said). Anyhow my question is if all of this takes 5 weeks then has the buyer ran out of time to make open a paypal dispute for a refund. buyer paid on 26th may - Don't suppose i'm any better of for doing this!

Does Louise work there? If not then you know that part is a lie so the chances are the rest is as well.

I sent the OP a message a few days ago with regard to boutiques general inability to authenticate. The gist was that most boutiques are terrible when it comes authentication of items you haven't purchased specifically from them and without provenance, particularly vintage items. Chanel are notoriously bad for this. The buyer may well be telling the truth as far as they were informed at the boutique, it doesn't mean the item isn't genuine, it means the SA at Chanel who incidentally has no authority to authenticate anyway, has not recognised it for what it was.

There are independent authenticators who specialise in specific brands who will be able to ascertain whether an item is genuine or not.
This isn't relevent to the OP anymore as the time for the buyer to open a dispute has passed but may be useful if the situation arises again.
