I've followed these discussions with great interest as I have three of these little b*****s! One of them has fluff or something on the inside of the screen and it's just so annoying. It's second hand and I suspect the first owner may have opened it.
Can someone tell me if they are easy to open once you remove the screws and do they have any tips or warnings?
I don't care about the warranty as obviously Grundig don't!
Believe it or not, I do love these little devices and it's a shame the way Grundig treat their consumers.0 -
Is there any way to set the default line option for recording, rather than having to change from camera to line-in everytime you switch it on?
Does the new bios hold the setting.?0 -

Very Easy, remove the screws - you only need to remove the back row - but I done all of them including the one under the silver cover (top left or right i think) and prize the back off. Gently does it, and its pops off clip at a time. (Dont forget to remove the HOLD Switch!)
The battery is stuck to the HD with a sticky pad, so a longish screwdriver/knife will help you remove it without bending the battery too much.
HD is a little scary to get out, things are a little tight inside,
I never too the front off, too much hassle with finger prints on screen and the button covers falling out!0 -
Anyone tried to down grade to one of the other firmwares yet??0

How are people connecting this up to record from the TV?
I dont seem to have any scart/RCA out plugs on my TV0 -
DVD, video player, set top box ?0
