Providing the player is accessable from the mac - its a simple case of unzipping the download and placing the extracted file in the system folder.
Its the same as Windows really, I think your problem may be with the 'unzipping' - Try a google on "unzip mac"Does anybody have any idea how a mac user, can use this update?
Tried downloading it, but cant open the file.
Any help appreciated. Cheers0 -

You could be right, I'll give it a go. Thanks0 -
If it helps, when I downloaded the firmware update I renamed it to
Sorrell_firmware_1.15K.zip
(adding the .zip on my PC means Winzip will open it automatically)
When I unzipped the file it created a file called
SV-15_Rom.bin
I renamed this to
VP6200_Rom.bin
and copied it to the 'System' folder on the Grundig.
When I unplugged it from the PC it immediately started the firmware update, which took a minute or so.
I then changed the language, TV out and radio settings.0 -
Toys R Us have them instore, they weren't on display, I had to ask for one.
only 2 left at Scunthorpe branch now
Ok, so now I finally have one, should I upgrade the firmware? or wait to see how it performs?
I guess this would invalidate the warranty if I did?
Also, how long should I leave it on charge for?
thx0 -

Upgrade? - Depends if you happy with the original firmware really, I wouldnt worry too much about the warranty, the device isnt going to last forever, and if it break down sooner rather than later I doubt grundig will bend over backwards! :rotfl:
Seriously though, if it was me, I would upgrade - the films stopping randomly really !!!!!! me off
Battery charge times should be in the book, but I dont think its going to make a shed load of difference (Insert battery chemistry flamewar here!) - from what I remember it does take a while the first few times.
Hope this helps.0 -
I only just got it from ToysRUs this afty, maybe I should wait till I've checked it over, cause I could take it back for a replacement or refund if its not right.
Cause I bought it from them and not grundig, it would be them who would have to sort it out if it went wrong. But then again, would they know it it was the incorrect FW? Just trying to think ahead before changing it, cause there's no going back!0 -

Thats was going to be my next point, your contract in the first instance is with Toys R Us, and they wouldnt have a clue who, what or when, depends really what your going to be using it for.
Generally, it makes a quite good cheap removable USB HD, but a !!!!!! divx player in its 1.08 rom form... IMHO0 -
Just found a usefull setting, in the 'Video play set menu' ( A long press of the menu button during playback) When you turn the 'Resume' option on and you're watching a movie, if you should have to turn the unit off befor it's finished, the next time it's turned on and you go to play the movie again, an option comes up asking you if you want to 'Resume Play'. Saves having to fast forward to the last point ! :j0

I'll pass that on. Thanks.0
