A very big thanks must go to Zakkieboy for pulling his unit apart to find this info out. I've just done the update ok. The only issue I seem to have found so far is that when I set the LCD output to PAL, the screen drops a few line down and in, not sure why. (Update - Not a problem if you set it to pal through system settings, only found this when setting it in video player) One of the other guys in the office has one too, and his does the same after the update. The one odd thing between his and my player though is that one or two files won't play on his (unsupported file format message), but do on mine. Most strange.
No Problem, if anyone else feels the need to 'tinker' - be careful with the battery, it doesnt seem to have much protective casing on it, so it bends a bit :rotfl:
I also noticed the screen dropping in video mode, outputs fine on my LCD telly though, so im not overly bothered.
Next task, hacking the firmware to add features!!! :j0 -
Thanks for that update - I've just upgraded mine and hopefully that'll fix the problems i was having.....and more importantly, save me from speaking to Grundigs helpdesk again0

Looks like Grundig have washed their hands of these now.
Can't find a trace of them on the .co.uk or .de web-sites.
I was hoping to download a copy of the 1.08 firmware before trying the
1.15 Beta version. (not sure what I would have done with it!)
Does anyone know what has changed from 1.08 to 1.15.
Afraid I couldn't make much sense of the 'translation' that's been posted
Thanks to Zakkieboy, djm71 and all others who've been finding info.0 -
Grundig never posted any firmware as far as I know, so theres no rolling back to 1.08 - but I doubt you would ever want to!
The firmware is a minor release (i.e not a ver 1 to 2) so Indicated thats its bug fixes only, main ones seem to be better divx decoding and improved LCD handling when using TV out.
Overall a worthwhile upgrade,Looks like Grundig have washed their hands of these now.
