    it works!

    :j

Im off to the pub as its sunday, but can anyone else have a go at updating?

Thing is , I tried a few things and dont know if it was the changes that 'helped' with the update, or it was sheer luck!

    Changes noticed so far:

    Radio seems different
When on TV mode it doesnt flicker anymore
AVIs dont seem to randomly stop anymore
Better decoding, not perfect still but better -Some films remain slightly jerky, but not as bad as before.

    Overall - Worth upgrading to,

I think i'm missing something here too, the system folder is empty as far as i can see and just dropping that bin file into it appears to do nothing !

    hello there,

sorry to be a pain, and state the obvious; you dropped the file in the system folder and disconnected the USB Cable?

Just tried this myself and get the same problem, dragged the bin file over to the system folder and disconnected the usb cable but nothing at all

It just seems a strange type of file to me, I always thought .bin files were to do with image burning.

Right, got it worked out now - to get it to work you need to rename the file to VP6200_Rom.bin

So unzip, drag the file across to the system folder as above and rename, disconnect USB cable and the update will start straight away. When the device is rebooted after update it will default to Korean language but don't panic as it's easily changed in the system setting menu
