Mine got collected today, after spending another £5 on packaging to ensure it got there without further damage (although I don't think u can damage it much more) which they refuse to refund.

Whats the best setting to have the player on when recording a DVD from the home DVD player.
I have tried this but i'm not getting a crystal clear picture and it isn't that smooth.
Can someone advise what setting to have the player on to obtain the best quality.
Many Thanks0 -
just a quick note to say my grundig was delivered on wednesday as i had ordered.
it came Beautifully packed so i cant complain
so far i have 10 films on it just drag from the hard drive into the films folder.
i have recorded from tv and video also from digital.
i tried 6 minutes of recording with qvga which is best with tv it was only 64mb
so there is potencial for recording tv shows.
for digital vga is probably the better setting to use.
i was wondering about maybe the settings for encoding an avi file if someone could help me on this one many thanks.
best wishes to everyone on the forum have a good weekend0 -
So far I have processed one of my DVD twice using the Mobile/Generic option to produce an AVI file.
Using the first setting "audiocopy", I got a video file without audio (on PC and PMP)
On using the second option, "mp3", I got a file that played properly, sound and video, on the PC but the PMP refused to display the video!
...I am about to try processing my dvd again "mp4"...
...or am I missing something?“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around.
But when I got to be twenty one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”

one of the best for free is

input your file and make sure the settings are for a avi file....mpeg4 not mp4...keep the frame rate the same and you can also leave the resolution the same as the device will fit it to the screen...or you could convert the resolution to 320x240...(size of screen).
Make the bit rate about 700-800kbs and MP3 about 128kbs and your hot go. you need to make sure that there are no settings giving the file a packet bitstream..if you cant find the setting then use the below software to rip out the bitstream...the player cant handle bitstream very well...makes things very jittery.

your file size should be about 600-800mb. winavi is great and so is avs video tools...0
