Hello!
Sorry Dreams come true I didn't realise I had a post! I feel guilty posting on here sometimes I feel as though it's a bit self indulgent!
Things are all ok here thank you, I've made another couple of payments off the mortgage which brings it up to £340I know it's not much but it's all I've been able to afford right now.
I'm currently in the process of Martin's money makeover, I have so far started One Poll again, in the process of recycling an old mobile and getting £1 cashback for it too!:D I have an appointment to switch my current account to Halifax's reward account on Sat. Currently I get NO interest or any perks with my account, as my money is in and out all month £5 a month(with tax off) is pretty good and I'll get £100 for switching!:D
Any extra money I earn I'm going to put into a new car fund.
Also on the money front I'm now doing an extra 5hrs work self employed at 10ph a week so 180 a month after tax. With the summer holidays that's going to be a god send.
Working at a college & being under agency my hours are disappearing pretty quick although I have a lot more hours than other agency members. Today I worked for 3hrs cash in hand! Unexpected lush!
I may have some hours over the hols as they need some software support, they said they would like me to do it just waiting to see if they can get the funding, that would be great for me.
Other things hmmm we have booked a holiday to Lanzarote wooo I know not very money saving but I feel we have both worked so hard this year we deserve it! I'm really looking forward to it we need a break!
Brought some shorts today which has motivated me to keep fit lol! I'm looking forward to having a bit of time off and time to sort my money!
Works ok, not as fed up now have been told a few jobs may be coming up not really what I want to do, but may be worth going for.
House all good ooh got 32 cash back on home insurance this week and I beat the renewal only by 11.95 but that's the best I could get!
Can't wait to have a whole week off. =]
Hope everyone is well and money saving lol!Mortgage at Highest:£145,000

Hello all!
Thought I would make a post on here as I have some good news, I love reading nice things when I come on this site it's so motivating!
Well I have received a tax rebate... well almost I haven't received the cheque yet but they say they owe me £1854.00I only started looking into my tax because I picked up a second job just 5hours a week but I wanted to make sure I was paying the right tax so for the first time in my life I sat down and worked it out! Glad I did as it seemed I would be due something sent off a couple of letters and I now have almost £2,000. Well worth it!!!
I'm putting all the extra money I earn into a savings account for a new car I already have £500 in there from doing little things!I'm so chuffed with myself its surprising all the little things can add up!
I don't know about all you money savers but I tend to keep these things to myself, I find if I share "money plans or extra things of done to make money etc" people seem to get jealous or think I'm made of money when really I'm probably one of the lowest earners of my friends & family I'm just a little more clever with it.
At least I know I can come on here & celebrate!!!
In regards to my last post I am working through Martins's money makeover still, I have the Halifax account brilliant I wish I could have a couple!
Work over the hols was ok I had a bit of work and I'm back in on Tues considering I finished in mid July that's not bad I'm more than happy with that.
Holiday was lovely, we traveled all round the island had a great time! So glad we went away now although it was expensive it's worth it to me. Talking of holidays me and OH are going away with OH's family next year to Dorset and the year after we are going with my family to Madeira. Both families don't want us to pay for accommodation although me and OH are a little annoyed about this as we like to pay our way it will be a cheep ish couple of years! I hope the year after it might finally be our honey moon if we can get round to getting married!
I will continue forth with the MS way! May list some clothes on ebay today & hopefully add a little more to the car fund!
Take care all!

Hello all!
Weather down South is pretty horrid again, but I do like a bit of rain means I can stay in & rest no garden work etc.
Anyway as OH is revising today I've been checking out the mortgage repayment calculator, I found if I OP £50 a month I would take off £21,494 just in interest and pay off the whole mortgage 4 years 10 months earlier!!!
I know small payments make a difference but I didn't think it would be that big a difference!
OH has been paying an extra £50 into the joint account a month so I showed him the figures and said could OP rather than put my £50 into the joint account he said yes! Finally it way be working!
Small victory! I can't wait to get rid of this mortgage!

Morning all!
Been thinking lately I should be cracking on with the MSE way! Been really busy lately with a new job!
Work:
I have got myself a proper contracted position with my place of work rather than agency! Although I really pleased about this it was defiantly a case of the grass is greener! Haven't seen huge huge benefits really but ahh well it looks better on the CV etc.
I'm not loving this new job, there is not much else around right now in education. I am not even sure what I'd really love to do whether a feel like a complete career change I honestly don't know, I think if you are in doubt it's best to wait it out! I'd rather be in my current position a year anyway before searching for new jobs I have till October to wait.
Money:
*Me and OH have been really good lately with spending money on eating out, although it is tough at times its so worth it!
I've been working the odd shift overtime here and there when I can, because I'd much rather do this then surveys or ebay whatever form of additional income get it out the way!
*I have also been comparing our accounts lately getting us the best deals.
*I've chased up cashback
* We have been making regular OP of £50 off the mortgage a month
*We also have started saving for a buy to rent.
* Buying clothes and items from car boots :T
I just need to get on here a bit more get some more inspiration!
Other:
House is great still costing us loads of money because we want to still do so much to it, at least we can enjoy it everyday.
No plans for marriage or babies yet which I am very disappointed with just have to wait a little longer!
Weekly goals:
*Add local educational websites schools etc to my favourites so I can keep an eye on current jobs coming up.
* Seriously think about completing a Masters (maybe over just couple of months)
*Look into part time prospectus for professional courses to boost options
* Book remaining leave!
* Ask sister if I could borrow 30shred for holiday
* Complete one EA workout at least once this week
* Meal plan week
* Plan weekly treat
Wil add more when I think of them!
Little Miss tired already!

Ahhh an hour till I have to go to work, not a fan of evening shifts!
House:
We have just had someone round to valuate the house for our remortgage, hope all goes well our advisor has managed to knock 10 years off our mortgage, we have to pay £50 more a month but so worth it. All those little over payments are getting us there we will now be 45 mortgage free rather than 55!
Things are getting exciting now it feels like we are putting in all the ground work ready to have kids get married etc, I just want it all to hurry up and I know it's worth it to allow us to stay as debt free as possible.
Life:
We have just returned from a family holiday to Dorset with OH's family, I managed to survive and we think we spent about £300 between us! Not bad for a week away we had a great time together.
Work:
I have applied for my dream job within the same company, I don't think I will get it but I'm going to go for it! Its such a shame everywhere wants qualifications to do anything it drives me mad!
If I did get it I could pay so much more off the mortgage it would be amazing but can not think about this.
I have also applied to complete a MA in Autism tbh its the only masters I think i'll be able to get on if I'm honest and what with OH still working away in the Army and not kids quite yet, it makes sense...waiting to hear back from the uni.
Other:
We are hoping to do a car boot in Aug wooo very excited about this! OH's leave has all changed in Aug because of a course he now has to do sooo frustrating I now have to try and change all my leave! I'm going to be popular!
Saving as much as possible where we can and also doing up the house little by little.
We are getting there I just need a decent job now & things would be perfect! I'll keep dreaming:)

Can't believe I've been off this site properly for almost a year! Lots of things have happened in this time and this is why.
Me and OH are no longer together and we are currently in the process of taking my name off the mortgage. Whilst I am waiting for this I have looked at buying a flat on my own, so looks like I will be starting the MFW on my own this time. To do this I am unfortunately going to have to borrow money from family, so will also be trying to become debt free.
So everything right now looks a little hopeless, however I want to continue my diary to keep me motivated and hopefully maybe give someone else in the same situation some motivation too. I know I get a lot from reading other people's threads.Mortgage at Highest:£145,000

Oh my goodness so it's been almost two years since I have been on here!
Well I'm now in my flat! It is beautiful but as I said last time I am going it alone. After a failed relationship and losing my job over a month ago now and still remaining unemployed I feel I need some form of motivation. Although I may not have the money to over pay the mortgage right now I am sure there are many other things I can do to help myself.
I have no clue as to where I want to be in the future which is hard, my self esteem is low and I feel like I have been dragged through a hedge multiple times. However I have a beautiful flat which I can call my own, a few friends and I know I want to be MF at some point! (Hopefully sooner rather than later.)
This diary will now possibly feature my search for an eligible bachelor, my stresses, worries and job hunting.
Hopefully MSE can help keep me motivated when all seems to be lost!Mortgage at Highest:£145,000
