LA Fitness were a nightmare to cancel after I left them a couple of years ago, I asked when my last payment was due and cancelled the dd after that payment had gone plus put it all in writing as required. They started sending threatening letters saying I owed them membership as I had cancelled my dd, it took several calls and me demanding that they took me off the system that was just sending out "standard letters" which could be ignored. Good luck!0

Signed up Dec. 21. Got pack 1st week of Dec. Received membership card on Friday. Booked introduction and 1-2-1 session no cost. Membership runs out July 8. No contract signed, implied or otherwise thru LAF. Off and running
. Not sure what everybody's on about.

I contacted my local LA, and they said if I take along my AXA documents they will set me up with a temporary pass until the proper membership is processed. Excellent!
Update: Been to LA and got a free guest pass til end February. Don't know what AXA are up to or where my proper membership is, but hey, i've now got membership at LA. Goodbye local leisure centre!

everybody's memberships going ok?
i treally like this gym, i'm in the livingston branch. i go three times a week doing cardio and light weights - they've given me three different days so i'm not doing the same stuff every time i go there, brilliant for ensuring i don't get bored.
the only gripe i have with the livingston gym is the setup to go into the sauna/jacuzzi is a pain the erse!!!
to use the gym/pool/steamroom you use one chaging room
to use the sauna/jacuzzi you use another changing room that is FAR too small.
you can't go directly from pool to sauna/jacuzzi - you have to get changed from swimsuit to dry clothes and back to swimsuit to do that
ah well, i'd be annoyed if I wa spaying the full amount but seeing as I am only paying £17/month, I can't really complain
I've lost about half an inchof my collar size so far too, put a shirt on this morning that was too tight on the collar before xmas!A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining and wants it back the minute it begins to rain.0 -
People be wary of LA Fitness. It's my gym and I'm having a nightmare with them. My advice is if you need to complain or change anything make sure you do it in writing and keep a copy.!!
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -
my update , still ringing the rude scouse bloke, still on a temp card that runs out on the 28th of feb , keep being lied to , err axa and la fitness are w@@k%"s
i dont do being lied to , be very aware !!!!!0 -
Got my real membership finally after getting the run around quite a bit. To get it sorted call AXA on the 0800 number on your membership card(sorry don't hav the full number), and they WILL sort it. Main thing I experienced is the first person you call may not know about the whole thing, but there is someone at AXA definitely sorting it out. They have done for my partner and I. Be determined!
I like my new LA, become a bit of a spinning addict.

I have had a membership card through the post, and i will be able to go for an induction next week, only thing is i am suppossed to pay for membership from the begining of jan so i will be paying for 6 months membership to axa and getting 3and a half months gym membership free. Do you think its worth contacting them?? seems a little unfair to me0

Does anyone know if this offer for 6 months free gym membership is still running with any new health insurance policies?Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0
