This will be £270 for my local LA Fitness - if this is the case then the whole promotion is a scam - there is no mention of this in their blurb or the T&C's.
MSE did not introduce me to this offer - I was quite happy with the quote for health insurance in its own right and would have been happy to stay with AXA.
Not now - I shall cancel on principle - it's sharp practise.Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

Hows everyone getting on with this? Has anyone sorted out a membership without having to fork out the 6mths up front? Or has everyone just cancelled it?
Think i might phone my local la fitness tomorrow and try and sort something out!

cancelled mine yesterday - health insurance was quite good - but I hate deceitful advertising0

I phoned my local LA Fitness yesterday but they have not yet received my details despite taking out the insurance with AXA over two weeks ago! In fact, the lad on the sales team at LA Fitness hadn't even heard of the special deal!!!!
I'm thinking this might be a bit of a damp squibA banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining and wants it back the minute it begins to rain.0 -
What a let down! If they tell me ive got to pay £250 or whatever up front im just going to tell them i cant afford it. I dont see how they can just fail to let you know this!!! :mad:0

Why after all this time can we not get any clear information? Its driving me nuts. My 14 day cooling off period finishes in a weeks time so would like to know for sure what to do?
How difficult can it be just to get a clear answer?
They cant go back on there word can they?0 -

A guy told me on the phone that they will send me gym vouchers after they have taken the first payment. He never mentioned anything about paying 6 months up front though!
By the way, your not the same LivelyLobster from the RI forum are you? :cool:0 -

Just spoke to AXA. They are now saying that after my first payment has been taken out (28th Jan) then LA fitness will contact me within 14 days.
So that means in theory it will be the second half of February until I even enter the Gym for the first time. So much for the so called SIX month offer!
I then asked is there any obligation for me to continue with the membership come the end of June? They said that they 'dont know, you will have to ring up LA fitness'.
If it sounds too good to be true then it generally is as a wise man once said.
Ashame really as I was buzzing when I first heard of this offer. Going to have to cancel now.0
