My latest update....
Input meter readings yesterday, which it accepted (small drumroll).
Got email saying my latest bill is ready. Viewed bill, no direct debits taken, balance is now more than my monthly DD should be, but they're still showing the DD discount. No reply to my email sent to them on 19th July. I can feel the need for a letter to be composed before they send the bailiffs round. Might try phoning them - haven't listened to their on hold music for some time.

Slight update checked this evening and there's boxes showing for electricity meter readings. There's a meter serial number in both boxes which is correct (yay!). However one column is marked up rate 1 and one is marked up rate 2. We have economy 7 and our meter is marked up low and normal. I'm still not sure what figures should go in what box. Their own guide mentions that the day time rate may be marked up as either register 1 or register 2 instead on some meters. I've tried a Google but that just confused things further with some people saying register 2 is the day time rate and some people saying register 1 is the day time rate although the majority seem to have rate 1 as the night-time rate.

Look at an old bill and see what reading is used for the rates. Usually low and normal figures are quite a lot different, so you'll be able to tell from that which meter figure is which.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I can see which is low rate and which is normal on my meter but I'm not sure which boxes EDF want me to put them in online. We've only just signed up with EDF and haven't had a first bill yet. Our previous supplier used the logical day and night.
edit
Just signed up for the Iphone app which asks for day and night readings instead of register 1 and register 2. Entered those and they've been accepted and they've even appeared on the website.0 -
It's a complete guess but my logic tells me that Register 1 is day rate and Register 2 would be night rate.0
-
That's the order they've appeared on website now I've managed to enter them via the app.0

They are definately breaking some rules re: complaints as when you call the customer service number, after entering your account number, you are only given 2 options - option 1 for automated services like meter reading or hold for an operator. I have tried at various times of the day for the last week and been on hold for 20 mins and given up everytime. Emails it says are responded to in 10 working days..... Normal phonelines give you the option at the start for complaints, moving house etc.0

Well, both my DD's have come out of my current account correctly.
I guess the only things I have to worry about is when/if/how EDF generate the bills.
They really need to sort their on-line systems out.
Thing is, if I'd just initiated the switch, phoned in the final meter readings and then gone on holiday for six weeks without ever looking at my on-line account, I would have come back and found a more-or-less perfectly executed switchover.0 -
I gave up phone contact months ago and use messaging through My Account when necesssary. They used to reply within about 10 days, now they're not even managing that.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Funnily enough, spooked by forum talk of 6 monthly billing I checked my Terms and Conditions. In fact only an annual bill is "promised".
