Anyone any further on their switch?
My on-line account still says 'awaiting meter reading' for both Gas and Electric, although they confirmed they had both when I rang last week. This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Got an email from EDF today saying my latest bill is ready. Foolishly thought that maybe they'd sorted out my direct debit as I sent them an email last week about it, or rather the lack of it. Logged into my account, no new bill. Checked my bank, no direct debit. They do say they'll get back to emails within 10 working days and they've only had 5 so I'll just have to wait a bit longer. I'm sure they'll sort it out though - by the time the tariff ends in just over a year and I leave.;)

Latest on my switch - my EDF online account seems frozen in time - Electricity supply is OK but gas is still "awaiting reading" - the gas reading box has reappeared on meter reading page but none of the readings I have entered earlier in the month are showing! Don't intend to enter another one!! I sat waiting on the phone for ~ 30 minutes yesterday before abandoning hope!!They have taken a DD - BUT only for the amount agreed for electricity.
HOWEVER - I've had final account from EON -OK for electricity -date and reading agrees with EDF website - BUT they have based gas on an estimated reading (which is pretty accurate to be fair) and an earlier switching date (6 days earlier) than EDF gave in one of their electronic messages! Wonder if EON have got fed up themselves with the tardiness of EDF on gas accounts!!0 -
When EOn did my final bill they had also used estimated readings for both gas and electricity for the day after I had given them readings online, which were less than my online readings. So lower than actual figures were used for the completion of my FOL7 tariff and higher than actual for EOn's more expensive standard tariff. Result was they said I owed them just over £6 where in fact they owed me a few pence. Out of principle more than anything, I contacted EOn and they sorted it out once I'd explained what they had done, which it took a while for them to understand.
eDF did give EOn the readings for the changeover as I'd given them to eDF, although it did take a while. I will go back to EOn if they have a more competitive tariff (not necessarily the cheapest, just reasonable) when my eDF one ends.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. ...when EOn did my final bill they had also used estimated readings..
That is strange and not how transfers are supposed to work. They should have waited for the "gaining" supplier to send your customer provided opening readings.
I suspect what you might have is an normal (estimated) bill not the "final" bill.0 -

It was the final bill but they had used estimated readings for the interim figures at the end of the fixed tariff I had been on and for charges on their standard tariff until the switchover date.
That was despite me having given them my readings on the last day of the fixed tariff. Final readings, which came from eDF were fine.
I eventually got an adjusted final bill from EOn using the readings I had provided.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. My EON bill is definitely labelled "final statement" - even tho' the gas reading is estimated - it says "thank you for being our customer"
They calculate that they owe me ~ £40 - BUT the small print says I won't get it back until "we have checked everything is up to date and we close your account" -which I take to mean that this is an interim final statement!!
As to the c/over from FOL v8 to the standard Energy online tariff - its actually a few ££s in my favour!!:)0 -

i'm in a similar position, i entered both opening readings online when prompted by EDF then a while later received letters confirm DD amounts - today i've had an email advising i've got a message on my account, which is asking me for an opening reading again!
i suspect there might have been an update over the weekend as the home page when you log in looks a little different, if so, update = major mix up of existing data?
i'm starting to wish i'd stayed with Npower, & that's really saying something!
edit - just been able to acces my online account, it disappeared earlier. something has definitely happened,
Gas - try to enter a reading & it states one already entered
Electricity - 'no contracts currently exist for this account' ?!0 -

Hi brewerdave
Fuels sometimes transfer on different dates even though a switch was started at the same time.
As your electricity has gone through, we'll have received all the details from EDF. This will have automatically closed the electricity account and produced final charges to the info provided.
As a dual fuel customer, this will have triggered an estimated gas bill as we will not have received details of the gas transfer yet. Once these details are sent to us, though, you'll receive a revised final bill based on this info.
Hope this is useful brewerdave. Give me a shout if I can help further as happy to do so.

So Malc, when you finally get the gas info. from EDF does that mean I'll get a new "final" bill with the gas element recalculated back to my previous bill in June - or will I just get a supplementary bill for any gas used in excess of this estimated figure ?? If its the former -then maybe the system shouldn't trigger the production of a "final" bill on the strength of one utility switch completing.;)0
