    that looks lovely.

was 10 days over with DD and am hoping not to go over with this one. DD's birthday is tomorrow so anytime after that I won't mind.

20p a can?? that's fab. might have to pop up to Lidl's when we go to church later tonight.

  • 3 weeks tomorrow, really is that all? I hope I can do it, nearly, nearly fell off the wagon by getting over obsessed on cheese making after my ricotta success but have managed to get a grip. It is one thing to save a bit of money making your own ricotta or mascarpone, and very MSE. It IS NOT MSE to start googling raw milk supplies and cheese presses! Just as well I have turned over a new leaf or there would have been a lot of money wasted on the Evil Egg card at this point! As it is £6.95 on a cheese making book is the only damage done. :D Going to check amazon returns policy!

Talking of the Egg card, thought that should have been cancelled by now so why has new cards and pins arrived from Barclaycard this week? Must investigate that one!

Have got a sourdough starter going, making first loaf today, less risk of expense in that little hobby, I already possess about 10 books on bread making so can't me much more to 'tempt' me out there! :rotfl:

In our nearest town every year they hold a Big Cheese festival and this year they actually had a stall selling all the stuff you *need* to make cheese. I dragged my DH over and almost convinced him that we needed some cheese making stuff til he saw the prices of the "basic starter kit". TBH I nearly had a fit too.

  • Well the book went back so all in all the cheese adventure cost a grand total of £1.09 so that's not too bad. The refund will be purchasing sausage skins when it arrives, have to get my money's worth out the electric mincer :rotfl:

Need to start googling 'free things to do in Edinburgh', fast approaching and I'm a little nervous on the budget for that!

This time in 3 weeks I'll be DF whoop, whoop. A lot can happen in 3 weeks, was very scared by a friend telling me she took car to garage yesterday for a dodgy handbreak light thing going on, only to be told to get the car off the road immediately, the bottom was about to fall out of it and they have to buy a new car.

I have no safety net for such scenarios, once the debt is paid that is us until we save up again :(

    Morning hun

You are doing soooo well and the fact that you resisted going back to old ways needs a pat on the back!

i can't remember - is this your final debt in 22 days? Are you saving up to pay off in one go?

    xx
    Debt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)

    Loan 1 £1787
    Loan 2 £1683
    Total £8601 Was £39302
  • Yes Debt free , I now have £2179.28 sitting in the ISA , £504.24 left to find. Which is happening on paper, just need to safely get through the Edinburgh trip without messing it up.

Then the huge ripping plaster off effect of handing the lump sum back over leaving us with nothing!

Actually it's not quite that bad as hubbys business does have some money in which could be borrowed in case of dire emergency. Just felt a bit safer somehow this time last year despite being in debt as we actually had some money in the bank but I threw all that at debt early on. I'm sure it'll all be fine, just don't like coming out the comfort zone I suppose.

Will feel good to start chipping at the mortgage in Dec though, definately feel now better to do it that way than save up a lump sum for that!
