Unoffical Existing Customer Balance Transfers

It looks like credit has dried up for anybody who asks for new offers. maybe try cancelling a card. my colleague tried that and she got 12 months 0% BT with 3% BT fee and thats great considering Personal Loan rates have gone up. She did not care if they had closed the card as she had the money in her savings acct.
ps: only for people who can only afford a closed credit card.:beer::beer:0 -
When I rang HSBC last week they had no offers for me. Today I receive a letter offering 0% for 6 months, 2.9% fee!?0

i am surprised hsbc had to offer you that... i have always been told there are no offers...
anyway i called amex last night and they told me they are expecting to launch 0% 6 mth deals in march/apr for those who havent used their accounts in a while...
anybody else care to verify?:beer:0 -

My MBNA card is clear at the moment - anyone know if they are offering any deals at the moment?0

MBNA - Virgin. I have had the card for years and always had deals on offer, always paid on time, admittedly they havent exactly made a fortune from me, but called to recylce a a chunk coming of a new card, only about 20% of my total limit and nada.
Even when I threatened to close, which I did as if they cant offer me deals then I wont use a card that they have just bounced to over 30% apr, for anything.
Does anyone happen to know if GE Money (asda card) do repeat offers, otherwise I might actually have to get a new card.0 -

If you just cleared your cardthen I would suggest wait a couple of weeks if possible and they should offer something. they normaly do.
But then they are upping their BT fee to 5% from 1st April. So I would personally expect them to stop all BT Offers until then and then come up with briliant 0% offers.:beer::beer:0 -
Anyone got any ideas? Have got about £5000 on MINT card at rate of about 29%. Have requested reduction in interest rate but they refused. (even though new cards about half that) They probably know that i cannot transfer elsewhere due to recent financial difficulties and subsequently bad credit rating which is being dealt with but not helped with the high cost of their card. It seems very unfair.0

Just called Abbey (have a zero balance after transferring remaining balance away last year at the end of a 12mth 0% deal).
They say I can have can have 8 months at 0% (3%fee). Although it's not a particularly great offer - I was surprised that there was anything going at all - I've heard Santander are rubbish at existing customer offers & was just expecting to close the card down.
Quite pleased - can clear my MBNA balance before the 0% finishes in April & hope that the nice MBNA people will have another offer for me in 8 months.0 -
