I applied for a A&L % card as Virgin 0% finished and i was declined, 1st time ever!!
So i decided to call my other lenders this morning who i owe nothing to and this is what i was offered
HSBC 19.9% no BT offer
Halifax 7.92% Life of Balance
MINT 3.9% for 6 months :j
Not fortuntate enough to get a 0% however will save me a nice bit of money compared with Virgins current rate and i will aim to pay off in 6 months.
Probably because A&L and Virgin are both run by MBNA - Martin warns against applying for both as you are likely to be refused one if you already have the other.

Has anyone had any recent joy with getting a repeat deal on Ulster Gold? Now in a position to do the deed but wanted to just check what people are getting before calling them. Cheers “You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Last year I got a 12 months 0% Balance Transfer repeat deal with a 2% fee.
Tried to get them to waive the fee but no go.
A 6 month 0% Balance Transfer deal with NO FEE has also been reported.0 -

Hi hope someone can help.
I have a barclaycard with £1,300k and an egg card with £1,700. I understand that existing barclaycard customers can transfer a balance to their card for a lower rate for the entire length of the debt. So can I transfer my egg card to my b/card and then the debt from my b/card to my egg and then back to my barclaycard and get the cheaper rate on the whole of the debt? I hope that makes sense. Thank you0 -

leighleigh why are you thinking of transferring the Egg balance twice? Will incur more in balance transfer fees. If you have enough available credit on Egg transfer your Barclaycard balance to Egg and then transfer whole of your new Egg balance to Barclaycard.

I'd like to transfer a balance on to it and start using it again, but when I called they said there are 'no facilities for balance transfers' at the moment. They said they're just not offering any balance transfers, at promotional rates or otherwise to existing cardholders...
Just spoke to them again, and they suggested I close my account with them, then apply for a new one - then I could get the new customer 0% balance transfer offer! Is it me, or is that totally bonkers...?0 -

Lenders vary in this respect, as with everything else. Some will not consider applications from former cardholders for various periods following closure. Others like M&S accept applicants straight away.
In all cases, it's advisable to check your credit reports to make certain the account is actually closed down and marked "settled" before you re-apply.;)People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
Lloyds TSB are still offering 0% for 6 months on balance transfers or 1.9% for a year. I phoned up saying I wanted to cancel my card and they offered me it on the spot!0
