MBNA have just offered a 0% balance transfer of £17,765 for 9 months, but this comes with a fee of £300. What is the real rate of interest for me to see whether I should transfer it onto my mortgage?
P.S. I asked them to cap the fee, but they only reduced it by £55.0 -

MIR x 100 / 60 for a higher rate tax-payer
where MIR = mortgage interest rate.
You'll take a hit with the uncapped 2% BT fee, but should still see a reasonable return* due to £5 minimim payments and the 9 month duration.
* DYOR with the final number crunching. I'd suggest running the figures through the https://www.whatsthecost.com/stoozing.aspx calculator before committing to the deal.0 -

Thanks MBNA :A
how did you get away with no BT fee? i've checked all their offers and can't see anything even similar?Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.0 -
Hello all,
Today I contacted Barclaycard to see if they would do a BT for me and waive the fee. Bearing in mind I've been a customer for 11 years, they still said no. I then decided to close the account, after lots of questions why I got put on hold........ then, answer STILL NO!!!! So I closed the account.
Am a bit dissapointed, but hey ho

I've had a card with them for years, using it as my main card and clearing the balance each month. Over the last 8 months or so I haven't used it at all and am wondering if I could get an offer if I ring to discuss closing the account.

Hi
Has anyone been offered anything for an Existing Customer deal on their HSBC card? I might keep it to try & do a BT in a couple of months if I can get a good deal if not I may as well cancel it.
Thanks.0 -
I am an existing TESCO credit card holder (Mastercard) and have just received an invitation to transfer balances before 31st August and pay 0% for 6 months, subject to 2% fee capped at £50. Not bad eh?0
