Got turned down by Barclaycard platinum yesterday despite being recommended by Credit Expert
No visible searches in the last six months, less than 90% available credit used but struggling with a low(ish) credit score. Have to be patient and pay from this month the interest on my current CC

9 identical posts in 9 different sections - Someone is trying to get their post count up so that they can then post spam links, IMO.

Yes you need to have a bank account with them0 -
Interesting. I applied for HSBC back sometime last year and got rejected. I have personal (and business) accounts with them. Maybe time to try again soon...0

Same issues on Virgin, no offers for several months since I paid off the last balance, phoned up still no offers so asked to cancel and they did it right there, no attempt to retain me at all.
Asked how long before I could reapply and she said tomorrow !!
Barclaycard I am having the same problems paying a balance on Nationwide Select, I rang them up but could not get the bloke on the other end to understand what I was talking about and I could hardly understand him, all he would do is ask if I wanted to do a transfer. Will try again and hope I get someone who is more with it.0 -

MBNA branded cards allow multiple cards so if you cancel one then you can apply for another immediately. e.g. OH cancelled MBNA card(direct branded) and after she closed that account she applied for a virgin money card and got exactly the same limit.
Would have done the same this year but we decided to cancel and not apply as we did not want a search on her account as we need to apply for other credit for furniture purchases.:beer::beer:0 -
Barclaycard offering me as existing customer balance transfer @ 0% til 1st June 2014 (24 months) with 4.9% transfer fee.

Wow!
The longest i've ever seen is 12 months, currently only offering 6 months on mine.
Thats longer than any new card you can get! (although the BT fee is higher)0
