Glad to have been of assistance downshifter98.
Your deal was better than mine. I wasn't offered transfers to current account (which is what I would have preffered).
Also, the offer didn't appear on my online account. I received a call from them offering me the deal. This has happened twice recently....and the calls are genuine!!
When I phoned customer services recently to find out if I had any offers, the pre recorded message stated that "if you are calling about balance transfers - then any offers will be shown on your online account".
The offer isn't there and the transfer has taken place.
Will need to call them again to see if they are willing to offer a deal on money transfers.0 -
Hi Stoneman
My offer has only appeared online - I do check every month or so and last time I looked was a couple of weeks ago and nothing. I'm quite amazed that they offered the same deal for crediting my current account and checked very carefully when I did the bt (online) - fingers crossed it all goes through OK (I used the Windows snipping tool each step of the way..). Considering recent tales of money being tight again (for banks) I'm amazed that these offers keep popping up but long may it continue.

Letter from Lloyds for my Airmiles card offering 0% money transfer to bank account for 9 months, 3% fee.0

Just received letter from Lloyds offering 6mths 0% transfer into current account with 3% fee and also 6mths 0% BT with 3% fee + interest for the Advance Mastercard.
It doesn't mention charging interest on the fee for a transfer into current account, why the difference? And does anyone know whether it's possible to take advantage of both offers at the same time and how they would allocate payments, interest charges?
ETA: Just read the back of my last statement re payment allocations and debts which attract the highest interest are paid first, down to the lowest rate.
I currently have a very small balance which is being charged interest of 11% so am I right in thinking I could do a BT or transfer money to my current acc whilst this balance still exists and any payments I make will clear this balance first and, assuming I also take a BT which attracts a 3% fee + interest, then this balance (fee) will be cleared subsequently before anything actually comes off the 0% interest balances?
Phew, that was a long sentence!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Further to my earlier posting, I rang virgin today and they offered me 0% for 9 months on money transfers (4% fee) or card transfers at 2.98%.
So that's barclaycard, Santander and virgin that have offered me deals in the last few months.
No luck from m&s though. No deals from them since the original LOB offer years ago.0 -
I have been offered 4.9% by lloyds over the phone for a balance transfer only they forgot to mention there was also a transfer fee of 3%. When I looked online I could get 0% for six months with a transfer fee of 3%. I thought banks were obliged to tell you about the best offer you could get, treating customers fairly and all that0

Phone call from MBNA. 0% interest until August 2012. 2.9% fee.
Well, I phoned up today and asked about balance transfer offers and they offered me 0% for a year so i thought whoopee! and then they dropped the bombshell that it was a 5% fee - I argued with him that it was monstrous and that virgin (also mbna) offered my hubbie same deal but for half the fee but he wouldn't budge - anyone got any ideas how i can get him down on the fee?Smile though your bank is breaking:)0 -
Just got a flyer from Halifax offering 0% for 9 months, 3% fee, if I apply by 2 October. I'd rather 12 or 18 months, but as they've not sent me a BT offer for well over a year, I suppose it's better than nothing...
