I've been struggling to sleep too Missy, its miserable. I've now got a duvet underneath the bed sheet and so many pillows there's hardly room for DH in an effort to get a little bit comfortable. Its not working! Camping right now would be just about my worst nightmare

I'm still having tons of BH's, they're starting to get really painful too. If they carry on like this I doubt I'll even notice when the real ones start!

    Good luck Supermaiden!

Labour vibes to anyone who wants or needs them :D

the hospital i will be going to was opened today by the queen!
labour ward officially opens on the 12th so hopefully will have bb there as its so shiny and new!

got an extra midwife appointment tomorrow as i phoned triage today about my itching#(its now all over my arms and legs) so hopefully she can help with that!

*delurks* Oooh you must be quite close to me anderson (hope they sort your itching out)! I gave birth at the old hospital which I don't think has had much done to it since I was born there!

One of the midwives when I was in labour was telling me how fab the delivery rooms are at the new hospital - big rooms, en-suite facilities and tv's/dvd players! Just what you want to hear when you have to shuffle out to the loo trailing your drip or use a bedpan and whilst listening to a barely working radio! :rotfl:

There are also 15 rooms rather than 9 which is handy as there seems to be a baby boom here just now.

Amy is 6 and a half weeks old now, I can't believe it, but am loving being a mum. :happylove

  • morning all.

    ooo, sounds promising supermaiden!

i'm feeling rough today, been and the mothers for the last week and a bit (hell) looking after as she'd had a minor op, got home yesterday, so think i've crashed after doing loads and it being stressful. she asked me while i was there, if after the baby was born, if i wanted to go stay for a few days! my reply was "NO" so she said she thought that would be the case but i can if i want, to which i said "NO, i want to be in my own home!" i really wish she'd stop trying to steal MY baby!

my poor hubby is stuck and confused at the moment, he's applied for a tutor training course, but he found out yesterday the first 3 induction days are the 15th, 16th and 17th of sept, these are in london, we are not and the baby is due on the 10th of sept! he doesn't know whether to still do the course and explain his situation or just not do the course at all. i want him to do it, but not in london and not then.......... :(

on a happy note, we've nearly got all the baby stuff sorted, we went on a shopping spree last week and got a load of stuff, not too much though. the crib and mattress arrive on sat - really excited! the pram comes next month, all we've got left to get are a monitor and sling.

huge labour vibes to the boldies and congrats to those having mummy cuddles!

ooo, one other thing - birthing/exercise balls, when can you start using them and what do you do on them?

I've been sitting on my gym ball since the beginning. After a running injury last year my physio said it helps wit core muscles so I was using it for general sitting about, watching tv, using the computer even before I was pregnant. Now, at 31 weeks, it helps relieve back and hip pain.

If you have a TK Maxx near you they have a good selection, i got one that has a weighted bottom, so when you sit on it it doesn't roll away - was only £9.99. Also they come in different sizes so if you are tall make sure you get 65-75cm so that you are comfy. I spend loads of time bouncing on mine especially when i just cant get comfy on sofa. Also helps baby get into optimum position for birth!!

    Right, snooze time for me!!:D

    Morning all!

Supermaiden sounds like things are starting to move for you! How exciting!

I must say I don't have much hope of going into labour any time soon, I haven't had any twinges or anything yet but the texts and facebook messages have already started and are starting to annoy me already! It's not like it's going to be a state secret when bubs is born so why people feel the need to constantly send me messages asking if she has been born yet is doing my head in! Even more so because my due date is not for another 3 weeks!

Not much planned for today, will probably stay in my pjs until about 4ish when Im off to meet a few people from work for tea at the Harvester....Im sure I should be nesting or something but I have absolutely no inclination to do anything :D

I find it much more comfortable to sit on and also find if I've used it a bit each day then my lower back doesn't feel so stiff. I think it gently strengthens the muscles and def stops me slouching. It's great for me because my general muscle condition isn't great and if I sat on the sofa for 9 months I'd be a huge blob of jelly and bones.

I think there are some things you can use it for to encourage baby to get in the right position labour too.
