Good for you Lirin! I'm impressed that you could even get half-way under the car. My bump is so big, I wouldn't have a mission. As it is I'm getting very close to the steering wheel when driving the car now!

Mrsspendalot and Madbird: what BEAUTIFUL babies!!!!
Amfoyndad: congratulations!! And lovely choice of name!
SDH: Hope you have your little bundle of joy very soon!

I'm starting to seriously overheat. I've had to take my ring off as my fingers are swelling a bit and even my feet are getting puffy :(
My DD was born in January so i didn't suffer from the heat last time. And I've still got another 3 months to go. Here in Northern Ireland it's only about 20 degrees, don't know how all the pregnant mums in the south of England (and other hot places) are managing. :)

Shhhhhh.... My big plan is soon in effect. I'm close to touching the steering wheel in my car, and racing seats don't allow a lot of manoeuvering room.... I'm dropping hints about switching to the V6 for daily use which has standard leather seats and much more room (and just a little teeny bit faster than my car)....

DH already isn't impressed with my abilities around wedding rings. Three weeks after the wedding, I forgot I was married and sanded off a portion. It's been covered in paint twice, plaster once, left in various places, and I'm terrible in general at remembering to wear it anyway- and now it's also getting very tight due to heat....

Big massive bags of ice from Asda are £1.... They're a standard feature of our shopping now.

    Morning everyone,
Started having a complete panic lastnight, which has then continued to this morning. I dont know the first thing about looking after a baby! Everyone keeps saying it will come naturally, but what if it doesnt and when hes born I havent got a clue what to do? :(
Is this anyone elses first baby? Am I just being completely silly?

It's my first baby flower tbh I look around me and when I see some of the people that manage to bring up children - I know I won't have a problem! :rotfl: I think it's natural to worry though!

Nope, as I'm the same. I don't bat an eyelid at a lot of stuff- I'm not a girly girl, have never owned a handbag or purse (If it doesn't fit in my wallet or car, it doesn't come out. Why people carry all their valuable items in a brightly coloured target is beyond me!). My hair is brushed on the occasions I remember it needs done, and I can shout at 400 people to organise them into a wedding photo without a problem.

But.... holding a child? I'm clumsy, I'll probably bounce it. Feeding it, etc? Nope, no clue. My partner's smugly blase about it and tells me I will know because it's mine- but um- what if I don't? I'm panicking as well, and have had the odd nightmare that things go wrong- badly wrong. Won't detail here as it would be insensitive.

Totally normal I think! My first too :) My husband the other night said he frequently has visions of him standing in the middle of the living room holding the baby at arms length while I'm on the laptop googling "what do I do with a baby when it.." :rotfl:

    Can I join in please?

I am due on the 3rd of November with my first baby. We are team pink, v pleased with this although we would have been pleased either way.

Could i ask a question. Is it normal to struggle to get hold of the midwife. I am 23 weeks tomorrow and according to a chart i was given, i should be attending the antenatal clinic in week 24 but have had no contact. Keep trying the midwives but phone always off. Have actually had no contact with midwife since 11 weeks. I was put on consultant/midwife care due to my height and saw someone at 16 weeks and have had both scans. Just seems odd not to have a bit more involvment from the midwives.

OH had nightmares before his eldest was born, he was scared and now he's great with babies and little kids, they love him.

I was absolutely clueless with DD1, 17 and never got close to a baby since my broher was born when I was 3 lol, and she's still alive.

Remember we are all here, and the parent's thread is here too, and no question is a stupid question :)
