    Hi everyone,

I posted a while back then promptly got admitted to hospital for three days :( However im pleased to report that at 17 weeks my ms has eased and im feeling much better :D

The doctor has let me go back to work although only mornings at the moment. I think I will get my hair done next week as a treat for feeling better :D

Does anyone know where I can get some cute fabric from? I want to try and make a cot tidy/bumber and curtains as the prices for these are astronomical

Congrats to all the new mums and labour vibes to Amfodyndad and OH.

Emily - I'd try eBay. There'll be loads and should be good prices. Otherwise fabricland (if there's one near you) should have some kids/baby type prints. I love some of the ones on fabricinspirations.co.UK but they aren't cheap (probably meant for quilting where you use smaller quantities of each) and I've not ordered from there before.

Eek sparkle! Almost July already. I have the psychological reassurance that I have all of July AND august to go.

I just had some great feedback from a customer just I did some work for (do some freelance stuff part time on top of my "normal" 40-45 hour week job). Makes it all worthwhile :)

Skint_Catt - I hope you can find some peace/calm/reassurance. With being pregnant and working I really find I have absolutely no time or energy to do me things. All my hobbies have gone out the window which is a sure fire way to raise my stress levels. I just don't know what I can do about it. It's like I need to press a reset button. Any chance of a weekend getaway with your OH? Reaffirm what it's all for? Hope that makes some sense.

Thanks sparkle - I get moaned at for watching dvd's in my room but my Dad has control of the TV downstairs (it's like I'm 14 again ) The idea of a walk is nice, bur a) I'd rather it was with OH than alone and b) I don't have the energy at the moment! :o

Thanks twi1ight, the frustrating thing is we're all being made redundant at the end of July so I'm supposed to be on gardening leave at home, all relaxed by now (as relaxed as you can be living with my parents & in the middle of buying a house!) but it was cancelled because of some a*&e in our finance dept who was taking the pi$$ I was almost dropping from exhaustion of moving house when I was told two days before I left work that I couldn't leave for another 8 weeks. Now I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs for 37.5 hours a week & getting more & more stressed.

We had a weekend away the weekend before last as it was our first anniversary, and can't afford another at the mo, though hubby has promised to visit this weekend & take me out to the cinema. Trouble is weekends are never long enough to de-stress.

Due to moving county I've got another booking in appointment next Tuesday with my new mw, a GTT the day after at my new local hospital & then the consultant app the monday after. I was going to talk to her about my stress levels today but she was a bit hassled herself trying to work through my notes - you'd think they'd be standard wouldn't you?!

Anyway, waffling now, but thanks for all your kindness, only 21 days & 1.5 hours of work to go.... :o

Skint_Catt - someone I worked with ensured he went to work and talked about a competitor company a bit more, that soon got the HR department to speed up his gardening leave - maybe that's a tactic to try! However, as you're pregnant, you'd have to make out the competitors might be who you'd loooooOOOooove to work for once your maternity leave is over...
I know what you mean re living with parents once adult, it is hard and they tend to revert to their habits, whilst you're stuck feeling you have no privacy and whatever you do is wrong... I do hope you feel well enough to read some books that you enjoy, perhaps some magazines, a chat on the phone with friends, bubble bath - something to help relax.

Personally I have a hypnotherapy cd from ebay now, called Effective Birth Preparation, and I find it helps me relax - so much so I have slept through at least half of it, but they say that's a good thing :D

So if you ordered that online and listened to it, you can tell your parents you are sleeping, they can't argue with that... plus you'd be relaxing too :)

Tw1light great news about the feedback from your work - I'm in the same boat, still doing freelance work for extra cash, every penny counts. I used to do it full time until one of my clients 'poached me' from myself and I then started full time work, but still kept on the freelance work eves and wknds! It makes it all worth while when someone appreciates what you do.

  • Wow, it's been a day for midwife appointments. I've been today and got to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time :D

We've been to visit one of our local hospitals tonight and have made a decision as to which one we want to give birth in, so that is a weight off my mind. Just need to let the midwife know so that she can arrange our 20 week scan and appointment with the consultant.

Labour vibes to those who want them!!

I now have bright pink toenails... :) Stripped of purple, pinked and topcoated.. they look much prettier :D

I have always found a way to paint those toenails when pregnant.. even when my SPD was really bad with Squeak.. :D

Well, the baby wants strawberries and ice cream and who am I to deny! It will make me itch but I am prepared to make such sacrifices for my child :p

I'm the Same pp. I change my toe nail varnish daily to match what I'm wearing, lol. I hate not having it matching. Even day after sectiOn I was sat in my hospital bed putting varnish on as they make u take it off!

Lots of pains today. When my midwife saw me Friday she said if baby movements are less I have to go to hospital. I'm now wondering what to do as he has been moving but last two days his movement's have really dropped off. I'm thinking it just where he so big there not much room. But do I really need to go up only to be monitored and sent back home an hour later. Hubby at work till midnight kids all on bed so can't get there really. I'm not too worried but I'm wondering why midwife was so keen on me going up.

I kept mine on, they were green... there is actually no reason to take it off other than if your O2 levels drop your nails are the first place to start going blue.. but they have SATs monitors on anyway so it is just an excuse.

    Morning all.

I've just spent a while looking for the pdf links someone put up a while ago for the Argos vouchers from Emmas Diary- the three baby packs. I know I've checked my email as well as I sent it to my dad, and I really can't remember my Emma's login- one of those days! I've searched through here, and can't find it- would anyone have them please?
