    *Represses her inner geek*

OH said yesterday what will we do if this one is not a geek and wants to do sport?... I said take it back to the hospital and bring home the correct baby!

put it like this.. when Squeak was born she has a red birthmark on her hand... you know the point on the outer edge of your palm where you rest your hand on the mosemat.. THAT is permanent!! i have a pic i think... one sec...

hahaha and there was me thinking i was the only one with kids that could type before they could talk. my youngest is starting school next week and her teacher is doing a home visit this week, she said to her whats her favourite thing she likes to play on, lilly said i like cbeebies and breaking the code.. the teacher was like ohh you like tv, lilly said no i like to play cbeebies online and breaking the code is well good i can kill sh** better than all the muppets on there half of them cant even type, dumb asses... (my proud moment) more of a cringe moment, i think its time to prevent her from being online
  • I LOVE it!! I want it!!!!!!!! :D I lve Barney too. I wanted Murphy but OH veto'ed that :(

At my work I can claim back all the Bank Holidays which were when I was on maternity leave. So if I take a full year off next year I can claim my 28 days annual leave, plus 9 days Bank Hol (extra one for the Queen's Jubilee), plus I will have my 28 days Annual leave from the year that I go back :j

Wilbur is lovely eh? I love Murphy too actually!
I have similar holiday allowances to you WW, am hoping for 14 months off in total which would be lovely.... If they don't go for that it's ok as it just means I'll use annual leave instead which would be ok full pay rather than SMP. I reckon I'll be ready to go back to work after a year.... We'll see.

I love your friend's idea, that is really thoughtful... Reckon I'd get myself in a right faff trying to find a nice word as well as nice names to go in it!

Am shattered today, had a late night sat up looking at crap on the internet before bed last night... Want to go to sleep now, but OH's not home and needs feeding first. Got a long day tomorrow, but will be finished off with hypnobirthing round 2, so am looking forward to that.

Oh - I went maternity bra shopping (yes I know I'm naughty for not going sooner) and got a bit baffled. My original size, though I'd not been properly fitted since I was a teenage, was 34B. In M&S she said I was a 36C and suggested just normal non-wired bras. In Debenhams she suggested 34DD or 34E in maternity bras. I ended up with a moulded nude one from Debenhams in a 34DD as the 34E in that one was mahoosive... Would still like another couple, but feel a bit confuzzled at the sizing.........

Problem is that every manufacturer has their own formula for sizing. And then, on top of that, you can try on several styles from the same manufacturer and the sizes are all out!

I have ended up with 2 34C maternity bras from mothercare and 2 36C moulded cup nonwire bras from debenhams own range.

I would ust pick a few sizes of the bra you like and then try them on for best fit.
:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j
  • I got non underwired bras from matalan, they're just plain white, nude and black t shirt bras but they were also only £4 each. And I tried a few sizes to work out what size to get.
    Bump due 22nd September
  • Other half just phoned to talk about his paternity leave, as I expected, he's only taking the single week. I can't help but feel he's going to end up missing the birth because of the distance, then popping off back to work practically as soon as I get home. I dread to think what will happen if I have to have a section? :(
  • Hi, have been lurking on this thread so thought I'd finally say hi ! Due 17th dec with a boy (he showed everything off, no class just like mummy and daddy!)
  • Hi and welcome Janey!!
i am liking harry at the moment but i think it will be quite common because of harry potter, i want something original but useable.

I don't know a single child called Harry, so this is our boy name. OH wants a middle name as well! It was hard enough agreeing on a first name. I think Harry James (James is the name of our fave band :D) I originally wanted Harry William (which is my Dad's middle name) but OH said it sounds too Royalist. Funnily enough the front runner for a girl's name is Kate or Katie. Strange since we are both anti-Royalists.

Well, I've been awake since 3.30am, not in any pain though, just wide awake. This time next week we should be at the airport booking in for our hols to Majorca. I spoke to my midwife yesterday and she is happy to write my letter to fly in my maiden name to match my passport and tickets :j
  • My heads killing - feels like someone is in there with a drill :( Didnt sleep well last night so am putting it down to that.

DD woke up about 10 minutes ago screaming she "wanted to get up!" - not sure why she just didnt get up!!

    Really cant be bothered today

RE: initials - My DD's initials are MSE lol (Was WAY before i knew i about this site - promise!)
