Breakfast - bowl of coco pops (now binned them and my wheetos)
snack - 2 hash browns
lunch - cheese sarnie, dairylea dunker, bag of crisps, can of coke - no more coke as i saw how that lunch messed with my blood a few hours later
dinner - 1/3lb lean steak mince with taco spice, 3 taco shells and a handful of cheese
then snack later on a handful of mini twirl bites
ok best drag my behind to work
I do, was diagnosed at 22 weeks and have managed it well with diet. Are you checking your sugar levels as different things effect people in different ways?
In general you want to eat proteins with your carbohydrates as they anchor your blood sugar level and stop it shooting up.
Breakfast: 2 eggs with granary toast (can't eat white bread as it sends my sugars up and toast on its own gives me a higher reading than with eggs!) I can't eat any cereal, even 'healthy' ones like special K but some ladies can get away with it, you just have to watch portion sizes.
Lunch: Ham and cheese sandwich (again granary bread which I was never a big fan of before but I am now a convert to Hovis Seed Sensations and won't be moving back post pregnancy!) Low fat yogurt, some fruit
Dinner: Spaghetti bolognese, Chicken/fish and veg, fajitas
Snacks: Mini sausages, yogurts, cheese etc
Breakfast is generally the hardest number to control as the hormones that cause GD are strongest in the morning, I have to be honest I can be much more relaxed after breakfast and have the odd slice of cake and keep within targets but I have been lucky.
What sort of numbers are you getting?0 -

I never thought it would be so hard to come up with a name though, we decided she didn't look like either of the 2 names we had picked beforehand so had to start from scratch after she was born.
We are both doing fine here. My scar is healing well and I'm feeling a lot like my old self again. I was so stressed out about my scar after the C/S, and kept obsessing about it opening up but I'm a little more relaxed about it now the staples are out. I wasn't prepared for a section at all, how naive is that! I wish now I had read up more about them just so I could know what to expect. Baby is being formula fed as I had inverted nipples and her latch was poor so by the end of day 2 I just decided to make the switch to formula. I was exhausted and it was a purely selfish decision but I don't feel half the guilt I expected to feel about it. I think you just have to make the best decision for you both at the time and hope for the best.
Hi Claire - I haven't had time to read back for a week since Leo arrived but just saw this and wanted to congratulate you on the birth of Phoebe. I ended up having a section too which I never anticipated. To be honest after 36 hours of labour, I was just glad to get him out!!
I was in two minds about whether to do a BS as my experience was quite traumatic but I think I will do one as it may help me to get it all down.
The main thing is Leo is settling in well at home - we are all just trying to figure each other out.
Labour vibes to all who need them and best wishes generally to all xxLeo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0 -
morning all.
i'm still not sleeping well, but things got a whole lot worse on wed night! i'd had a few slightly cramping braxton hicks in the evening, but they wore off, until i was woken just before 4am with quite alot of really quite crampy contraction thingys  i eventually sat up and they disappeared, but by that time i was wide awake and stayed that way until nearly six  after that i only dozed. so i spent yesterday feeling carp and still slightly crampy.
saw midwife yesterday, she suggested i might be in very early stages of labour  all gone quiet today though.
booked in for a sweep in 2 weeks time and baby and i are now def back to back, it was sideways on until sometime tuesday night, woke up wed with feet and arms out frontso spending lots more time on my hands and knees.
congrats debs on your last day at work! had mine last friday, such a relief!
c l a i r e - lovely name for your little girl.
a big vibes to the boldies xx0 -

My midwife told me she had 'loads of ladies due the same week as us, and all booked into the same hospital as me  100 days to our due date BMWinnie_in_Pooh wrote: »I got that pain in the top of my bump again yesterday so rang the on call midwife, explained all the hospital stuff from last week and she's decided I have an irritable uterus. Ooh thanks for that Jenjade, might pop down tomorrow and get some. I would go today but I am on strikeI've cleaned the house all the way through and I've fairly worn myself out so I'm doing nothing for the rest of the day, except to have a shower.
Still no sign of my free Nuby breast pump, that Postie has until Tuesday to give it up and then I'll have him!
I don't know what was wrong with me last night but I was in a right fettle, poor OH hid upstairs in his study and went to bed early to avoid me. Thankfully I'm in a better mood today despite waking every hour through the night with back pain.
No sign of PP, wonder if she has popped?!0 -

Im busy.. I have ebay stuff to shift.. Though before Wednesday when the beasts go back would be helpful.. or any weekend will have to do.. KH will have to have the children then and DS1 may end up with Squeak
I get irritable uterus.. it is very common and just makes you feel sore and tired..
I have irritable everything too.... But that is just me and nothing at all to do with pregnancy lol.
waterproof sheet on bed now.. tesco delivery coming later..
Ive been asked to join a research project into anti-bodies... but it means visiting a quack or MW.. so I might just decline lol.
Nails looking pretty.. OH dropped me off.. and picked me up.. it isnormally 2 minutes walk away.. I feel like a useless dollop.. oh... and going back to my shrinking bump.. the lady who does my nails thought I had had the baby I am THAT much smaller.... it is quite strange.. ooooh.... though I wonder if it means I fit back in the smaller maternity stuff...
Squeak playing in the coal bucket... guess I should really move her.. lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
