Well done Ecoelle lol, i've just had a chat with Elvis and have informed them that if they want to arrive early then they can from now on, only 10 days to go though til due date :)

I had a chat with mine last night too - explained that there is just two more days for mummy to go to work and so if wriggles and pokes and bottoms in ribs could just be minimal for those 2 days (and particularly at 2am), mummy would be very grateful....

Don't think he likes being told what to do :( Why does he not realise there is NO ROOM LEFT!!!

    :D:p

    xDx

It's really scary that it's september already, can't believe it! I will be glad when school starts though, and I think the children will be too.

Lirin how did you find anything on Freecycle, when I looked all I could find was people who wanted stuff, not who were giving it away? Is it a case of keeping your eye on it every day?

Pretty much- seems to go fast in Belfast.... There's a tab marked offers. I put some car seats on there at 1530 yestarday and agreed collection in an hour!

I actually saw some new born baby clothes and Size 1 nappies on there this morning, but it was for a baby boy, and I'm still an unknown so wouldn't be fair to take them.

I replied to that, but let her know I don't know what I'm having- I'm more than happy to take nappies and coats etc, and relist any clothing if gender is different.... Since only a (now very hopeful) DSD is the only one telling me I'm due a girl and all predictions are for a boy, I'll just have to see....

I'm going to my parents in Armagh at the weekend, and a lovely lady there has just agreed to meet with me and give me her old baby stuff- so will have to see what she's giving away!

It's very nice, as a lot of things we've been given we would have struggled maybe with buying- and after we finish with anything, I will definitely relist.

My OH's family are from Armagh, well there and there abouts :p we're considering moving back once bubs is here.

People are so nice when it comes to baby stuff. My friend had a baby boy in Aug and my OH's cousin is due a girl in November, so I think whatever we're having we'l probably get bundles and bundles of stuff from either of them for our baby.

I'm just a bit anal about stuff, I really want everything in for Christmas as I was 5 weeks early and I don't want to take that chance, but when people have said they'l buy you things, you can't exactly be demanded can you?

  • We got our high chair in the Asda baby event yesterday, the Graco one which was £25 instead of £45. I know we won't be needing it for a while, but I'd rather get it now whilst I am on full wage than have to pay out next year on maternity pay.

I've been sourcing or swapping on freecycle and gumtree as much as I can- I briefly worked out the finances with maternity pay and it'll be tight, but hopefully not too bad. I've been scrimping like mad as well to put extra in savings just in case...

Good idea Womble, when stat maternity pay kicks in it's just horrible.
Lirin it's worth working out the finances now. Im taking a massive drop in salary to be on 12 months maternity so I'm having to move nearly half my pay into separate account to subsidize the 5 months on stat maternity and 3 months on no pay. If I didn't move it, it would get spent, and I would have to return to work early :( Simples

It's a gorgeous sunny morning here, so off to sunbath while DD is in school. I'm LOVING being off work!

    How exciting Lozzy :j
