    morning ladies,

cant really comment on the nipple creams, I breastfed for about 4 days last time it was agony (maybe cream would have helped!) and my milk didnt come in for over 2 weeks, my poor baby was starving and lost loads of weight, I wont be putting myself through that again so will be bottle from the start for me :)

Am in pain again today and heartburn is making me feel sick :( hows everyone else doing today? well I hope :) xx

I must be the only one who didn't get any relief from using breastmilk/colostrum on their nipples. Didn't make any difference at all :(

I'm actually looking for a nipple cream that does NOT contain lanolin (as i am allergic to it!)-has anyone seen any creams that would be suitable? I'm going to ask the midwife about it-as i couldn't find anything to help last time around.

    keely.

I didn't either.. mainly because they needed to be dry in order to heal and they were constantly sopping.. breastmilk just gave me thrush which hurt more.. so I keep mine as dry as possible!

I'd just use bog-standard vaseline I think.. it is pretty much the same consistency as lansinoh and I think it is the moisturised and not too dry that keeps them from being so sore... rather than any magic ingredient.

Having a crappy day so far... I am fighting off the waterworks again... I am going to be an emotional wreck by this evening I see it coming already.. OH again.. texting this 'friend' .. if he wants to be with her so much I wish he'd just tell me and go.. or just go and tell me later so I don't degrade myself by blubbering in front of him. I am feeling unbelievably insecure at the moment and just a bit of reassurance he wanted to be here would be nice..

never mind.... maybe I should start on the emotional cut off again.. I am rather good at it.. and well practised of late. :(

SPD is agony today.. I seem to have a 'bladder irritation' which will become a kidney infection knowing my luck ('poor me' mode as well today :p) and my house is a skip.

On a plus note.. the baby seems to be feeling better.. much better night last night and it looks like the top 2 teeth are almost through :D

    Morning girls

Hoping baby arrived for SmlSave yesterday and she is having mummy cuddles.

Think Galvanizersbaby is having her bubba today by CS - good luck!

Is anyone else worrying about not having looked after baby enough and him/her being born with something wrong? I'm worrying because I'm not always sleeping on my left (quite often the only way I can get comfy is on my back), haven't been taking any pregnancy supplements, am still probably lifting and carrying more than I should be, haven't really been exercising (other than dog walking every morning) since I got pregnant etc.... eating too much chocolate and crisps..... Am worrying that I've damaged my baby and there'll be something wrong......... :( Does everyone go through this as they get closer?

    xDx

Debs I know exactly what you mean especially about the sleeping. I really struggle to sleep on my left and find the most comfortable position is on my back. Wasn't too worried until I read some article last week about how it really is bad to sleep on your back and to a certain extent your right hand side. So now I'm really trying to sleep on my left but keep turning over in my sleep onto my back anyway. I also have been lifting and carrying probably too much but I am trying to stop as it brings on such bad SPD and hip pain.

PP - Sorry your having a bad day. I wonder if you should just confront OH as he needs to know how much its upsetting you. It may well all just be something and nothing and you'd be better off knowing...:o

Well I have the dreaded MW appointment this afternoon. Last 2 visits she has left me worrying about the baby being small and this will be the first time I've seen her for a month. So I will know later whether I have to have another scan and see the consultant to check he is growing well. So wish me luck. I used to look forward to the MW appointments - now I just dread them (and they're every 2 weeks from now on) :(

so long as you realise nothing you do (unless drugs or alcohol or whatever) will really have any impact on the baby and realise these thoughts are a little irrational then yes it is normal. It is normal to worry about the health of your child bu it is also extremely difficult for anything you do to have any impact on the baby.. they are very well protected in their bubble and with their filter they can get rid of most of the rubbish we are affected by and they stuff they will be exposed to the second they are out.. bacteria, viruses etc.. many can't get through the placenta.. but the midwife might sneeze on them the second they are born! :p..

Many women can't exercise... think of the pregnant ladies in other parts of the world who work in fields day after day .. pause to pop out the baby, strap it to their back and carry on.. you think they do no lifting? I have 9 children including a 10 month old baby and a house to run do you think I do no lifting? Many people move house or do heavy manual jobs while pregnant. If you are eating decent food, supplements aren't necessary.. the digestive system breaks every thing you eat down to little bits and builds the bits it needs.. it doesn't matter what you eat to a great extent it is all mushed to nothing and built up again.. the body is very clever and there are very few things it needs which it cannot make itself. I can't sleep on my left.. I sleep on my right usually.. surely chronic exhaustion from not sleeping is worse!

Chocolate is surprisingly good for you.. crisps also to an extent.. they have some of the vital stuff you need.. so long as you are eating proper food too it doesn't matter!

My head is in a funny place today.. but that is meant to help.. :D

I can't be bothered and he wouldn't tell me anything anyway. I wish he would read my waffles on here sometimes TBH

MW's love the 'scaremongering' ... Don't take a blind bit of notice.. if you had a scan recently after her flapping and all was ok the chances are baby is laid very curled up or tight into your back or low in your pelvis.. That is one of the reasons I refuse to go.. they find something EVERY pregnancy to get you to worry... I feel like it is their way of making you comply to what they want.. when in fact all it does is make you worry and I think it is a cruel thing to do. 99% of the time there is nothing at all wrong.. or they don't pick up on the thing that is really wrong because they are too busy making things up. You are within your rights to ask to see someone different.

Good luck. Is it her tape measurement that she worries you with? Baby is probably just curled up comfy somewhere. An extra scan though is another chance to see bubs - please don't worry.

Well just behave! lol... worrying and fretting will increase your Bp and that isn't good for baby :p... neither are the associated hormones good for either of you!

Back from my sweep, wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. The MW said my cervix was really easy to reach, but firm. She managed to give a good sweep, but couldn't stretch it too far. She managed to get 2 fingers in though. She said immediately I was going to have a very bloody show, and I have. She was slightly concerned at first as I passed a small clot, but after monitoring baby for about 20 minutes and then re-checking my pad, she was happy. She noticed on the monitor I had started with 'good niggles' so she is hopeful it will work. I've been sent home under orders to bounce on my ball and go for a walk, and she said with any luck I should have my baby before induction. Still having niggles now and lots of bloody show.

Yeah a tape measure so I know it can't be that accurate its just that at 25 weeks she said he was measuring 23 weeks and at 28 weeks he was meauring 24 weeks so the "gap" was widening. Anyway, the more rational side of me says she has let another month go by without worrying so I need to stop worrying too. But still want some better news this afternoon :o
