Labour vibes to Claireloo!
I've been having some very disturbing dreams the past few nights, not been eating cheese before bed either. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Gilly - I've had really dodgy dreams all the way through this pregnancy. Some have been so horrendous I've actually been glad that the pain has kept me awake so I haven't dreamt!
Pigpen - how's your kidney? I meant to ask yesterday but got all swept up in the excitment of coats and estate agents0 -
I've ended up staring at my ceiling a lot. I have massive trouble sleeping, but always tired.
So when I do go out, DH says a tornado wouldn't wake me.
Going to moan now as my right leg is pinging so madly- all the way from my hip to my nicely swollen ankle. And my back and groin are sore. Plus, I've just eaten the last pack of Monster Munch and I want more.0 -

They will send an ambulance out for someone in labour anyway. I got a taxi in when I had DS3 without issue.. I never even considered mentioning I was in labour.. it didnt seem relevant.
I never have cash either
i am hoping to stay at home as long as possible though but if my past pregnancies are anything to go by, as soon as my waters go a baby will follow pretty sharpish, eeeek.
i've never even thought about an ambulance, i think i'd only call one as a very last resortSkint, but happy (ish):p0 -

Sore.. but the cramping stopped so that was a bonus
But then my pelvis, back and hips hurt so much if bits started dropping off me I wold either be glad to be rid or wouldnt notice.. running on painkillers and caffeine today.. I am too sore to even get up and go forage in the kitchen..

Winnie They're so weird, it's mental. Also had a rather random romantic dream about someone I've not saw in years. Baby must be sending my sleepy thoughts into over drive.
Lirin Get yourself to Sainsburys multi pack of Monster Munch on BOGOF. I bought some the other day, got a feeling my OH will have eaten them all though. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
lol thanks Gilly. My DH manages a local Centra, and already has instructions to have some waiting for me later- but I want them now!!!!!
Pigpen, sorry to hear you're having a hard time0 -

Welcome Steph!
I have to be honest I have been really lucky with the GD, I was diagnosed at 22 weeks and was petrified, assumed I would automatically end up on insulin. My hospital seem to routinely offer you metformin but I said I wanted to try diet alone first and I have managed just on diet with no problems.
The only real change I had to make was breakfast, I can't eat cereal (of any kind!) without it pushing my numbers way up but scrambled egg and toast (while boring) works for me. It is daunting to start with to change your view a little of what is 'healthy eating'. Before they said I had GD I was trying to have a lot of fruit juices etc thinking it was good for the baby but those aren't any good with the diabetes! I've also tried to keep active as that can have a big impact on your levels.
Can't fault my care via the hospital, I've had regular growth scans and they ring me every two weeks to get my blood sugar numbers, you get used to sticking your finger. Apparently insulin hurts less than the sticking and even that doesn't hurtOne thing I have been amazed by is how common it is, as pregnancy complications go, I honestly think it is one of the 'best' ones to have. Good luck, you'll be fine! Have you been to the clinic yet?
jenjade I'm 37 weeks, will mostly be bouncing on my birthing ball in the hope she'll come of her own accord before I'm induced!0 -
ha lirin my OH works in a shop similar to Centra and it's great, every night he comes home he has a list of things that I want that day. Bless him.The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
