Oh the landlady said that if the house was bigger the kids & cat wouldn't be an issue as she hasn't got a problem with them, but the 3rd bedroom you can apparently just about squeeze a single bed in and she said we'd find it too small.

Oh well. Back to the drawing board lol.

There is another one in a nice area but it's a picky agency so I know they'll say no as soon as we ring lol, plus the garden is a bit ornamental, hard to maintain with kids and balls etc.

Worst thing is there is a gorgeous 4 bed in a perfect location but the rent is the whole of OH's salary and we wouldn't be able to get help on it till after Christmas.

PP your OH should be doing more... I was very annoyed with mine yesterday too, had a massive hormone fired hissy fit at him and burst into tears. To make matters worse he just asked me if I'd finished being a stroppy cow yet (edited for politeness) and carried on with what he was doing!

Mimi I'm sure last year I was higher up the list by 22 weeks. I think it's because there are so many threads now!

It is fantastic- he brings home tobacco onions, mint choc chips, slushies, chicken- whatever I feel like that day. He is being great, and i'm just moaning. I wish the back support belt would arrive so I can try it- Yodel shows it as delivered and left on my doorstep- wasn't there when I got home!

Last year we were just off the list :D !!

Not good news about the house.. but you really do need a 4 bed! (says the person who had 8 in a 3 bed house!!!)

Id ask to go look anyway.. see if you could manage something.. if you had te middle sized room the 3 older ones in the biggest room and the baby in the tiny room would work... and you could keep your eye out for a 4 then.. though in terms of HB you should be eligible for a 4 anyway.. you would be here!!

here you are allowed 2 per room.. so DD1 in 1 room the twins in another and the baby in the 3rd room and you in the 4th..

I dont even think OH realised I had stropped off and made the bed and got Squeak ready and put her to bed.. he hasnt mentioned it..

We aren't eligible for HB on a 4 until the baby is born. They say 2 to a room here as well. I sound like a right scrounger don't I but the rents here are insanely high.

I'd be quite happy to stay with a 3 though as long as there was more space than this. I might see if there are any for sale on RM and post a floorplan :rotfl:

Mimi there's what, 5 days in it? Tell someone else off :rotfl:

Bet you end up having your baby before me anyway :)

ETA I just saw that wasn't just directed at me :o, though I agree, I should have!!

    Welcome Steph! :)

I have to be honest I have been really lucky with the GD, I was diagnosed at 22 weeks and was petrified, assumed I would automatically end up on insulin. My hospital seem to routinely offer you metformin but I said I wanted to try diet alone first and I have managed just on diet with no problems.

The only real change I had to make was breakfast, I can't eat cereal (of any kind!) without it pushing my numbers way up but scrambled egg and toast (while boring) works for me. It is daunting to start with to change your view a little of what is 'healthy eating'. Before they said I had GD I was trying to have a lot of fruit juices etc thinking it was good for the baby but those aren't any good with the diabetes! I've also tried to keep active as that can have a big impact on your levels.

Can't fault my care via the hospital, I've had regular growth scans and they ring me every two weeks to get my blood sugar numbers, you get used to sticking your finger. Apparently insulin hurts less than the sticking and even that doesn't hurt :) One thing I have been amazed by is how common it is, as pregnancy complications go, I honestly think it is one of the 'best' ones to have. Good luck, you'll be fine! Have you been to the clinic yet?

I am 28 weeks now. I had to go for a GTT test at 26 weeks because my dad has type 2 diabetes. I went for my first appointment at the clinic last Thursday and saw the obstetrician, diabetes doctor, dietitian and the diabetic nurse. I was told that they will see how I go with diet and exercise before thinking about medication. The dietitian didn't seem to think I would find it too difficult with diet as when I told her the sort of food I eat, she said a lot of it was fine and that I just needed to be careful about portion size. I did tell her I had been eating a lot of sweets, chocolate and ice cream too which are all the things I shouldn't be having! I haven't found it too difficult to cut those out though because I need to think of the health of my baby.

I was given a blood glucose monitor and I have to check my blood 4 times a day, once before breakfast and then an hour after every meal. So far I've only been above 7.5 twice and that was after evening meals.

I have to go back this Thursday my first growth scan and also so that they can check my food diary and make sure I am eating correctly. I hope I can control it by diet and exercise alone as I don't like the idea of having to have medication. I've had a cold this week and have even been reluctant to take paracetomol even though I know its ok to take!

Other than this I haven't had any other problems at all, not even any sickness (sorry to all those who have). Sometimes I even forget I'm pregnant until I feel movement!

ok now i officially dont like you lol

havent been on for a few days because basically i jusy couldnt be bothered. being really lazy at the moment and feeling a bit down, dont know why really hubby is amazing kids are being good having a baby shower thurs with friends that my mum has palnned.

i just have no motivation to do anything, hubby keeps going out each day to decorate the rental flat and is working really hard at it, and tidying up when he gets home with stuff i cant manage and helping with dinner depending on what it is if i have to stand out there too long. i feel like im just being selfish but cant seem to nudge myself out of it.

right sorry for being self indulgant. how are you all doing, i hope the aches and pains are getting better,

welcome to the newbies hope everything goes well for you

Ah Delain, shame about the house. Tho as Pigpen says, might be worth a look at anyway. Cos small might not be that small. As long as it takes a single bed/ bunkbeds it might be worth it if there is more downstairs space.

I have finally caught some germs, first time this pregnancy, and have a sore throat and chesty cough. Not too bad, but as i have asthma, i cough a LOT, and is actually a bit sore with a large bump. I have to try and hug it otherwise baby bounces around a bit :(. Just not comfy. Plus eating chocolate and ice-cream (my favs) make me cough more. Well done you girls with GD for giving up the sugary stuff!!

Plus (sorry for the moan), i'm going to be sharing the train home with 10000's of other (and probaby drunk) people tonight as Tennents Vital is on in Bangor for the next 2 nights. If someone doesn't give me their seat, i'm just going to have to sit on someone's knee - there is no way i can stand for 40 minutes.
Of course, if i wasn't pregnant I'd be on the beers myself and joining them. I had to turn down the offer of a free ticket too!! :( Waaaaa. I'm fed up being pregnant!

It hasn't been too hard to stop with the bad food and I haven't been tempted yet but if I do I just have to think about what effects it could have on the baby. Although, I do get jealous when I hear about people eating all the good (bad) stuff.

I just had a call from the quacks surgery.. apparently.. the consultant I have no inclination to see has written to him asking I make an appointment urgently .. which of course I politely declined ;)

"no, you cant make an appointment because I dont want one!" .. which was infinitely better than the.. "if I wanted an appointmnt I would ring and ask for one.. doctors are for ill people and I am not ill therefore do not require your services.. thank you" which they got last time they rang lol

Why cant people just butt out of my life and leave me alone?
